Updated Review (Recent Visit):

After a year of not visiting Panshee and previously rating it between a 4 and 5 (depending on the day), my most recent visit has sadly brought my rating down to a 3.

Panshee used to feel special, but it seems the quality of service has declined significantly. Our waiter struggled to understand what we were saying, leading to confusion throughout the meal. The atmosphere was chaotic, with takeaway orders being rushed through, delivery drivers loitering in the restaurant, and takeaway tickets placed on a table in plain view – all of which detracted from the dining experience.

The food took far too long to arrive, as takeaway orders were clearly prioritized. When it did arrive, the spice level was so overwhelming that it became unpleasant, even though I had ordered something meant to be mild.

Additionally, the prices seem to have increased noticeably, which, combined with the other issues, has completely deterred me from returning.

Original Review:

This must have been my 20th visit over the years, and I am only now deciding to write a review.

I’ve had some ups and downs with this restaurant in terms of food over the years, with ratings fluctuating between 4 and 5 stars. However, I decided to give them a solid 5-star rating because, most of the time, everything is spot on. They offer a great menu at extremely reasonable prices!

The service has always been impeccable, and I’ve never had any complaints in that department. Truly, this has been one of the best Indian restaurants Swansea has to offer.

My only suggestion is that they consider moving to a larger venue with nicer facilities to accommodate their...

Oh my goodness guys, what on earth has happened?! We had a very rare child free Sunday so decided to treat ourselves and have the Sunday set special meal, which we'd had a couple of years back with the kids, and we'd all absolutely loved! This time, however, we arrived and we were virtually ignored by 3 members of staff while one dealt with a large group who were all paying individually. We stood there for well over 5 mins while 3 staff ignored us. This, we were ready to let go for the amazing food we were about to experience. Anyway, the waiter just seemed fed up, we didn't feel welcome or valued customers, we felt we were just 'the next ones' he was reluctantly having to deal with, no matter how nice we were trying to be to him. The food so disappointed compared to the last time we came. My rosheen darjeelin was awful, it had masses of huge halved cloves of garlic and tasted overwhelmingly of nothing else but strong garlic. I couldn't eat it. My husband's was OK but nothing more. The saag paneer was really good but the bhindi dish was quite bitter and unremarkable. Such a disappointing experience, we won't be going again. Our quest for a consistantly good indian/bengali/pakistani restaurant and take away continues. How is it so hard for Indian restaurants in Swansea to be consistent, even when busy? Other...

We had such a bad experience. Staff was very rude. Discriminative. The restaurant was so packed. Lack of room in isles. We had a resevation for twenty people, Inclusive four young families. As soon as we enter the restaurant, staff was very unhappy and rude. They didnt like we brought the push chairs and buggies inside the restaurant. Didnt even show our tables to sit instead kept us waiting. Eventually they showed the table but wanted us to put the buggies away and had no room to store.

There were sleeping babies in them who are just few months old so couldnt take them out. But theres no place to park in the restaurant either. The staff was very crossed said they do not take bookings on Saturday nights from the families with children. We were not mentioned this when placing the resevation so we were really uncomfortable. Shown no respect or passionate. It was a bad experience altogether.

They wanted to start serving before everyone arrives and sit down. Didnt have alot of drinks which they had on their menus. Food was cold. Long wait. Sometimes the accompaniments came after you eaten halfway. kids meals were just a joke. I have orderd scampi meal for my kids. It was just 3/4 scampi with loads of chips and salad. which clearly is not enough. (Cost £4.95) I can go on and on about this bad experience....

After some of my friends’ suggestions, I decided to try Indian cuisine at Panshee. Honestly, I was very excited; however, my expectations were not fully met. In terms of taste, I would say most of the dishes were good — especially the spicy chicken tikka, which was excellent. I was quite disappointed with the biryani and lamb rogan josh they served. The taste was okay but not authentic in my opinion. The lamb rogan was dominated by tomato flavour, which was not what I expected. The biryani also needs improvement — it looked and tasted more like a pulao. Perhaps they could consider offering a different, more traditional style of biryani. The service was okay but there’s still room for improvement. As mentioned in some other reviews, the dine-in experience felt a bit chaotic. I will definitely give it another try sometime in the future, hoping to experience a more authentic Indian cuisine.

Thanks to recommendations for vegan options in Swansea we visited Panshee and we had a delicious meal. We took advantage of the Sunday saver menu and staff added a couple of options for us that were vegan but not listed. They were really friendly, helpful and also knowledgeable about what could be eaten on a vegan diet which gave us confidence in ordering. The food was delicious and we will definitely visit again. We had chana choley & garlic mushrooms, vegetable methi & vegetable madras, bombay aloo & saag aloo, mushroom rice & roti (not pictured)
