Feel somewhat bad giving the venue this review when my biggest issue lies with the security contract. I rarely frequent Sin, but each time I do I witness awful levels of professionalism from the security staff. I recognise itās a hard job but every negative stereotype is represented in these guys and Iām surprised more isnāt done to correct it. On my penultimate visit I was aggressively shouted at for attempting to put down an umbrella in a way that wouldnāt hit someone, daring to step forward out of line without being told I could do so. The alternative of course was collapsing the umbrella in someoneās face, either in the queue or in the small lobby. I recognise some people have problems with spatial awareness, but I would think it a prerequisite for security staff. On my last visit I was unfortunate enough to get a blood splatter on my left sleeve. The security team had missed their chance to do something about this inciting incident so went searching like dogs in heat. I was rudely removed from the dance floor and then accosted and accused of foul play. The blood splatter, small and unobvious was clearly indicative of a minor relation to what had happened and not at all evidence of involvement. My hands were grabbed and my knuckles checked without my consent, also revealing no involvement. I was then threatened with their checking of the CCTV, leaving me to wonder if that wouldnāt have been a better first action than throwing around poorly thought out accusations. I was invited then to return to the dancefloor but under the accusations I had faced I was in no mood. The night had been spoiled, and my high entrance fee gone to waste. Truly I am more mouse than man (so as to say, non-violent) after a drink, and I have never been spoken to so poorly. I know they needed to do their part, making up for their failings in catching the incident in the moment but there surely was a better approach to the problem than aggressively treating an innocent party so poorly. Consider this the crux of my review: good intentions and good behaviour leaves you no more āsecureā.
I may consider removing this review on the news of a changing security contract, significantly better training, or an apology with promise of improvement. Until then Iāll suggest going somewhere safer where good behaviour isnāt rewarded with poor thinking aggressive...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMyself, my FiancĆØ and our friends recently visited Sin City for The Wonder Years gig. As the gig sold out in a matter of hours for our local venue we decided to make the 6 hour trip from Scunthorpe to Swansea (as a side note; The Wonder Years are one of our favourite bands so the trip was definitely worth it!)
We've never visited Sin City (or Swansea) before but we were very pleasantly surprised. The venue was brilliant - very spacious and accommodating. The Gig was absolutely fantastic, the sound quality was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed the night. The staff were very friendly and the drinks prices were very reasonable. It was definitely worth the road trip!
The only reason I have scored 4/5 instead of 5/5 is down to the fact that the venue was scorching from the moment we stepped inside to leaving. I've attended many gigs before so I know that the room does get very hot (especially nearest the stage), however this venue was so hot that there were streams of sweat/condensation dripping from the ceiling on to myself and others. I'd highly recommend investing in some air conditioning as Sin City really is a fantastic venue, it's just a shame it was so uncomfortably hot. Another minor reason for my 4/5 score is due to the fact that there was no club night after the gig. We were really looking forward to partying the night away to pop punk & heavy metal after freshening up after the gig. Unfortunately when we came back we were informed there hadn't been a club night for some time - I definitely think there's a huge gap in the market for rock/metal/pop punk club nights. We couldn't find anywhere else in Swansea offering similar. Sin City really is the perfect venue to host such club nights.
Overall, we had a fantastic night and we'll definitely return...

Pros- The people that go here are some of the best. Everyone is friendly and the atmosphere inside and outside in the queue is amazing. Bar staff are top notch and always respectable. Drinks on some night are really cheap.
Cons- The queue. The last two times I have gone here I arrive half a hour before opening and still wait 2 hours before getting told they are not letting any more people in. it's not that the queue is big it's just the club is really slow at letting people in and loads of people pay extra to jump the queue. Another con is the cups are disposable plastic ones and on occasions be hazardous on the floor.
The reason for this review is that in my most reason visit I was with a friend and we got separated before getting inside. She paid to get in and waited inside at the bottom of the stairs for me (if you have been here you know it's basically in the doorway of the entrance). when I got to the front of the queue the door guy told me no more people were allowed in. So my friend saw I wasn't getting in and was refuse her money back, even thou she didn't go inside. Probably go back soon but from the recent experiences it looks to be...
