Myself and my partner visited the restaurant at 8:30pm and had booked a table for 9:30pm on a Saturday as it was quite busy. We came at 9:30pm after we had booked a table and had to wait a further 15minutes to be seated. Once seated we ordered water and popadoms straight away which arrived promptly. We then had to wait for a food menu for around 15minutes after asking for one a couple of times. We then quickly ordered more popadoms, 1 starter to share, main courses with rice and sweet nan bread and more drinks. After we had finished our popadoms we had to wait another 10 -15 minutes for a single starter. By this point 45minutes had passed and we understood it was fairly busy, therefore just tried to enjoy our food. Once we finished our starter we had to wait for our mains for another hour, meaning we only receive our food at 11:15pm, which is almost 2 hours since we were supposed to be seated. Before we received our mains we did ask a couple of times where the food was and they just kept saying "it's coming". Most frustrating thing about us having to wait such a long tome was that while we were seated in a chaotic restaurant numerous takeaways were coming out of the kitchen and we were still ignored. On top of this there were 2 tables, one of 6 people and 1 of 5 people who came while we ate our starters and one after we finished our starters. Annoyingly both tables with a total of 11 people received their food before us. By this time we were getting seriously annoyed and complained to the manager who seemed to have no control over what was happening and just shrugged his shoulders and said sorry. When our food arrived so did "clean" plates. The plates were wiped with a cloth which looked a lot like the one they use to clean table, and we noticed they were dirty and greasy. We complained about the plates and they were changed. We finally had our food which included a chicken Balti, Himalayan mixed grill, COLD special fried rice and barely warm sweet nan. Because of all the delays we had to eat our food quickly as it was getting close to midnight, and we were very tiered. We tried to speak to the manager about this once again and he just blamed it all on being busy, he did not deal with this situation well at all. If we were told, food will take a long time or the service is slow today because the restaurant was busy, we would of been able to make an informative choice and would have gone to eat elsewhere. Further to this, male toilets did not have a lock and soap and my partner told a member of staff immediately. Half an hour later, there was still no soap, which is when we told the management about the soap issue. I than saw the manager taking soap from the kitchen into the toilet, which left me wondering if the kitchen staff will be able to wash their hands. I am not sure if they should be awarded 5 stars for hygiene and I think this needs to be reviewed, especially when a table next to us found a plastic piece in their food. We also constantly had a drought where their door did not shut properly, therefore after each table left, takeaway was presented or anybody walked in we had to get up and shut the door.
This facility lacks serious management and organisational skills. The only reason I am giving this a 1 rating is because 0 is not an option. Both me and my partner feel like we were neglected and our time was wasted, what was a great day soon turned...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDonāt normally do lengthy reviews but please bear with me. Staying in Llanberis on a family holiday & ordered online for 9 people spending Ā£120 on a takeaway. Said weād collect in 1 hour at 8.15pm. Stated online that it was cash only so called at cash machine on the way & withdrew the cash. Arrived at 8.15 on the dot & it was clearly very busy. Asked for our order to be told by the manager (presumably) that it was a big order so we should have given them more time (?) He said it would be another 10 minutes, so we paid the bill (he offered us a card payment machine!) went outside & waited in car. Went back in 10 minutes later (now 8.30pm) to be told not quite ready it would be another 5 minutes. Stood at the bar waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and whilst doing so noticed that nobody had food on their tables, only drinks. One large table clearly fed up of waiting said if there food wasnāt served within another 10 minutes they were leaving. Sure enough it arrived in 10 minutes. Others waiting for takeaways they had ordered we getting agitated at being told their orders wouldnāt be long each time they asked & tempers weāre getting frayed at the long delays. Got talking to a table of locals who informed me they had booked for 6.30pm & had only been served their starters and were still waiting for their mains. It finally arrived 2 and a half hours later at 9pm only to find one if the orders was wrong! This business clearly couldnāt handle a takeaway business alongside the restaurant. One customer so fed up of waiting for her takeaway even went into the kitchen to remonstrate. Ours finally came out at 9.20, over an hour late, after initially being told it would be 10 minutes, then a further 5 minutes, so clearly blatantly lying and not being honest with paying customers. Whilst waiting we didnāt receive one apology for being kept waiting or even the offer of a complimentary drink whilst we waited. The icing on the cake was when we got it home and unpacked it there was a main course missing and a side dish. Would have been a complete waste of time ringing to complain so didnāt bother. Just gave the person missing a meal a bit of everyone elseās. Would have given one star but gave two because thank God once we got the food it was actually alright. This business in their greed to take as much money as possible clearly treat their customers with utter contempt. However in the long run those very customers, like myself, will never return. Ā Ā Ā Read morePlease read negative reviews they are accurate. Quick Summary: rude and poor service, good food, would only recommend if sole purpose is to eat food ( not for social activity like birthdays)
I do not usually write reviews but felt I needed too
I attended with my husband, both of us being traditional Pakistanis who have our South Asian food every day so we are very familiar with our cuisine. We wanted a bite of our traditional food in Wales which is hard to come by.
We asked one particular waiter and what he recommend as we like curries more orientated as traditional home made style, he abruptly said you can read what it says underneath all of the curries have a read and decide and then call me back again, he then proceed to read out the whole menu which was a waste of time. He then said Its all nice I can't recommend anything to you because if I recommend anything and you don't like it you'll say it is my fault in a very defensive tone.
We then asked would one curry be enough for two people and he did not answer the question?!
Throughout this whole communication there was minimal to zero eye contact no smiles or nothing.
The food itself was decent. the royal kebab mix came with no sauces ( yoghurt chutney/ mint) as a Pakistani who makes this on a daily I know how cheap it is to make !! Where I am from it is offered as a standard with any dishes (no extra charge).
the Bengal garlic spice was cooked well and flavourful, the meats and chicken in the grill were cooked well not tough at all. The kebab could have been seasoned more. Its a shame really because the food is not too bad
We got our curries and nans before the starters which didn't make sense.
Another user commented that she felt she was treated differently because they didn't order alcohol I would also agree as we felt the same too.
Overall I'd recommend this place if you are looking for a quick bite or a takeaway and you just need food. But if you are going out with your family and want a pleasant end to the day, it's a birthday or you want to take your mates out I wouldn't recommend.
