Jack’s Shack has all the ingredients for a standout spot — a cute surfer café vibe that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into Newquay, not the Midlands. The concept is inviting, and the menu reads well, with a solid selection of sandwiches that can be upgraded to bagels, alongside some brunch staples.
Unfortunately, the execution didn’t quite live up to the promise. I had the salt beef bagel, which arrived on an unexpectedly thin bagel with barely any filling.
