I have eaten here so many times it is one of my favourite places to go with my girlfriend but tonight I had the worst experience ever we checked before arriving what time it shut and it stated 9 we arrive at 8:25 meaning we had plenty of time to order and eat before the restaurant shut. When we got there a young lady with black hair and glasses came up to us and I double checked they are still doing food and if we are able to get a table for 2 and she snapped back “yes but we do close in 20 minutes” in a quite aggressive manner, which already made us feel like they didn’t want our business. I replied back to her saying “that’s fine we won’t be too long” and the restaurant didn’t even close in 20 minutes it close in 35 minutes. She then took us to a table and immediately asked what we wanted before we even sat down. Which again was not very nice as it felt we were being rushed for no reason. I was a bit taken a back by this and so was my girlfriend as we both exchanged a look about how she is talking to us. My girlfriend order a Coke and I ordered a sprite as that is what we normally get but we hadn’t even had chance to look at the menu, she also never asked if we had even been there before or if we had any allergies which I do have. Once we had order the drinks she didn’t say anything other than asking if we wanted ice to which she only let my girlfriend reply before she stormed off to go get them and we heard he slamming the glasses down and the bottles as she made our drinks. As she was doing that me and my girlfriend were in disbelief over how bad she was acting towards us and how rushed she made us feel. She then came back and put the drinks down on the table. Then reiterated that kitchen is closing in 20 minutes and if we want to eat we need to order now bare in mind we only sat down about 2 minutes ago and had only just began looking at the menu. I said that’s fine and double checked everything is still available to order. Which she said yes so we started to look at the menu to decide. She continued to stand at our table while we looked at the menu making us feel very awkward and uncomfortable and we have never experienced that before any where and I think it is very unprofessional and rude my girlfriend then went to order some food after briefly looking over the menu as she felt rushed by her standing there waiting for us when she finished saying one of the things she would like the waitress stormed off and grabbed it (as it was pre made just sitting on the side) without saying a word and slammed it on the table again we were in disbelief over how this girl was acting she didn’t even let my girlfriend finish ordering before storming off and getting it my girlfriend then ordered another bit of sushi and she once again stormed off when this happened again we both felt like we are waisting our time and money and being treated horribly by this girl. She then came back and slammed the next thing down on our table and at this point I said “to be honest we are just going to go cause you clearly don’t want us here as you want to close” to this she said “you can still order you have 20 minutes” the fact that she still thinks that we want to spend our time and money at this place after how she treated us is terrible. I just said “no it’s alright you just want to close” and we left and we couldn’t believe how poor and unprofessional she acted. Both me and my girlfriend have worked in customer service roles in restaurants before and if we ever acted that way towards customers we would of been fired this is shocking customer service I am extremely disappointed. I understand that it is the end of her shift but that does not excuse that behaviour towards people giving them attitude and rushing them. As I said before me and my girlfriend loved going here but tbh after tonight we might not go again. Read moreArrived at YO Sushi today prior to making a booking beforehand to get told they couldn’t find me on the System, arrived at a table right next to the staff who eat their lunch and complain about customers annoying them throughout the duration of our stay, condiments on the table were half empty and used , was not clean in the slightest, waiter come up to us eventually to ask what we would like to order to then hear her sigh and walk off, food took ages to come out and my food arrived before my partners, which we could see the food arrival for our table was never at the same time for both of our meals it’s was every 20 minutes , was given food that we didn’t order and they forgot about the rest until I flagged down one member of staff which just said “well you don’t have any allergies so why don’t you try it” which I responded it wasn’t what we ordered and she grabbed it and walked off. staff are rude and chuck the food on the table without saying a word and can’t be bothered to be polite and have some manners, they all look like they give up with their jobs and don’t want to be their, I had to keep asking the staff when our food would be out and keeping track of money we spent as we were given wrong food and they kept getting our order wrong even though we placed it already, management is a big joke in this restaurant, food tastes very poor and not flavoured at all, definitely was packaged and not fresh, All the food tasted weird and gone off, the conveyer belt was empty ! Even though we was their for over an hour nothing was put on the conveyer which was a big disappointment, even though the restaurant was not busy and had maximum of 13 people in their including me and my partner. We travelled over an hour to get their and I will definitely not be returning from the absolute waste of time we spent here , our money was wasted and on top of that they tell you to pay and don’t provide a receipt unless you ask for one ? I took the receipt after having to ask, and to my surprise they charged VAT which was around £9. I wouldn’t even tip 1p if that optional. Disgusting customer service , food is appalling, hygiene is terrible , If you value your travel , time , and money I would go elsewhere. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. It’s not worth your stress !!! Read moreYo! Sushi has always been an enjoyable experience for me and my family. Unfortunately, the Worcester branch experience is getting more and more disappointing with each visit.
We walked in and waited at the till area to be seated. At this point we noticed that there were only 3 tables that were occupied. A young lad slowly made his way to us and stopped along the way to have a bit of banter with his chef colleagues. There was no greeting, instead he yawned, scratched his head and rubbed his face as if we had awoken him from his slumber. He then realised that he is in the presence of four potential customers. He frantically pointed at each of us, and my husband uttered: "May we have a table for 4, please?". The lad nodded and started tapping the touchscreen display on the till. He then asked: "6?". My husband followed slightly confused with: "4, please" - as there was just the four of us.
Anyway, we finally made it to the table. We ordered our drinks and food on the app, and waited patiently. The food was ok, the two things that we noticed were the difference in portion size for the same dishes and the lack of care put into the preparation of it. The staff were just much more preoccupied flirting with eachother, eating whilst preparing or serving food. I am almost 100% sure that they had a fella in the kitchen whose task was making sure the food was coughed on (you'd think after a pandemic, hospitality staff would be more mindful about spreading free radicals).
We finished our food and we had to order a takeaway dish for our friend. When it came to completion, the dish was chucked in a bag by a girl, who I believe worked there. I do think we managed to disturb her as well, as she was very passive aggressive with our katsu curry. She chucked it in the bag like a sack of potatoes and messed up all the delicate arrangements that the chefs had worked so hard for a full 3 minutes.
All in all, great experience if you want a similar one to the Karen's Diner (YouTube it). But it's not somewhere I would take my mum out for a light lunch.
