I'm updating my review with even more disapoitment as I posted this a week ago and not a soul from Billy's has responded to us or returned my call! Very disappointed in our first and most likely our only time in. We placed an order to go and it was ready in a timely manor with less then friendly service. We were excited to try the burgers after reading reviews. We ordered the belt buster to share, requested it cut in half and it was. Beyond that it was all disappointing. Burger was large, extremely dry, not an ounce of of flavor or moisture, bacon was hard, you couldn't see or taste any cheese it looked like it might have been cooked right off. The rest of toppings where little at best. Possibly the worst burger either of us have had in our over 50 years. Fries were just okay kind of soggy. Eating out is a big treat and $21.00 for a very over cooked under whelming burger is ridiculous! We should have taken it back but we were headed back home to South Bend. We tossed 3/4th of the burger and most of the fries! $24.07 in total without including tip. I've added our receipt. I would have given no stars if I could have!

My husband and I recently spent a night in Aberdeen. Not knowing the town particularly well, we just drove the main road and looked for something that seems like a place we wanted to eat breakfast. My husband and I like casual, homey places and Billy's totally fit that! It was a "seat yourself" kinda place, which we love. There were several other diners early -ish on a Sunday morning, another plus. We were in our booth less than 30 seconds before there was a menu in our hand. The waitress was fabulous, an old-school hard-working type that was more than willing to joke around with customers. The restaurant was clean and not run-down, but you could tell that last remodel was a while ago. Very comfortable/casual. The food was perfect! Omelet was perfectly cooked, hash browns hot and crispy, even the buttermilk biscuit was light and flaky. And the coffee? Very good and always full. We lingered over breakfast and never felt rushed. I will definitely go back the next time I am in town, whether it be breakfast, dinner, or drinks! Great place!

We absolutely love Billy's Bar and Grill. The menus is several pages with tons to choose from as well as a specials of the day, sheet with more selections. They have delicious home made soup, killer burgers and sandwiches. Huge portion selections for those with a hearty appetite. The Pub Roast beef melt with grilled onions is to-die-for. Order a side of au jus to make it the best French Dip you ever had. They have an enormous breakfast menu also. They have appetizers, salads and desserts. The women who work there know there stuff, are on the ball, friendly, attentive and go out of their way to give great service. PLUS they offer gluten free buns that beat most others I've had. Billy was our states first serial killer. In the wild west, gold rush days. Read all about it on the wall in the hall to the restrooms. Eat at Billy's and unless you are impossible to please, you definitely won't be disappointed and if you are I bet they will make it right.

Finally stopped at Billy’s for lunch after living here for over 5 years. Yes, it’s a cool, historical building. Yes, it’s a local landmark. Beyond that? I won’t be back.

First, the positives: Service was excellent. Friendly server, everything was correct and fast. The food was mostly fresh and correct temperature.

Sadly, there are many more negatives: The booth we sat in smelled like old urine. Not exaggerating. I know it’s an old building, I expected old wood, a bit musty, but where we were sitting smelled like grandma’s Depends.

The prices appeared average for “tourist-targeted” establishments on the harbor. However, a “small” chicken almond salad cost $14, and was served on a side salad size plate. For that price I expected a lunch meal-sized serving, not 1/2 cup of romaine and a handful of chicken topped with some almonds. Because the portion was so tiny I ordered a “pretzel bites and cheese dip” appetizer ($7). This is where the “mostly” comes in on freshness. The pretzel bites were disappointing. They appeared to be frozen pretzel nuggets that were deep fried. Change your fryer oil, folks. They tasted overwhelmingly like rancid fish. The cheese dip was spoiled. It had a curdled appearance and tasted like sour milk. I set it aside after one taste.

My dining companion enjoyed their chicken burger and cup of chowder, but said the burger tasted “off.” After my cheese experience I didn’t have a taste to verify.

Between the off-putting odor and lackluster, small portion of my salad, along with lazy preparation and questionable cheese on the appetizer, I can’t recommend the food. Our total with tip for 2 lunches, no alcohol or dessert, was over $50. I can only assume they are surviving on tourist traffic, because locals will only be fooled into...

My girlfriend and I have been driving through Aberdeen for the past 6 years and we just stumbled upon Billy's today. I think we missed it before because we never see it on our way out to Moclips. But today, we were starving when passing through and decided to give Billy's a try. What can I say, I wish we had come in sooner! This place is fantastic. Service was prompt and friendly, and the food is outstanding! We started off with the delicious bacon cheese potato skins. For lunch, my girlfriend ordered the fried green tomato BLT with a salad and I got the bacon cheese brick burger and fries. Our lunch came out quickly and was piping hot! The BLT was really good and the salad was fresh. My burger was huge, cooked perfectly, and was loaded with a ton of bacon. The fries were crisp and hot, and didn't come salted -- which is nice, because it always seems like fries get oversalted. All in all, it was a fantastic lunch with great atmosphere. Bring an appetite if you order a Brick Burger, the half-pound of beef will fill you up! They have a one-pound version which I might have to try next time, sans appetizer, of course! No question about a 5-star rating...
