Stopped in to satisfy a fish and chips craving. Wound up ordering the 'Breakwater Basket Combo'. Bill rang up to 22 bucks and change shop it wasn't cheap. Now, what I got was a basket of delight from the sea. This combo comes with clam chowder, 2 breaded fish planks of decent size, 2 battered shrimp, 2 calamari planks (really just strips instead of the rings your probably used to), 3 breaded scallops, and fries plus a drink. It's enough for 2 people so if you have smaller appetites it's probably decently shareable. I wound up tossing half my fries because I literally could not eat another bite. Everything was great. The breading stayed on the fish through the last bite, the calamari was the most tender I've ever eaten, the shrimp and scallops were good but nothing really stands out compared to the fish and calamari. They made a good choice on fries, the ones they serve are one of my favorites.

We sat on the deck and enjoyed our meal. Watched the water and birds and people walking. It was loud out there with the traffic going over the bridge but I like watching the cars go by so it didn't ruin anything for me.

5 stars all around. Will eat there again, even with the higher price. Maybe next time just the regular fish basket which should be in under 15...

The cashier did not advise of the surcharge on my credit card purchase nor was I given an itemized receipt of my purchase. When I asked how much was I charged they could not tell me. Another employee got involved and was very very rude and said “ it’s only $.73”. How utterly rude. Then went on to say even Walmart and everywhere you go charges a surcharge. It’s everywhere you go. I said I had a right to know of any surcharge to my credit card and they should post their charges. She said she said, “ no I don’t have post their intent to charge a surcharge”. The original cashier said “ it’s only Pennie’s”, but then she looked it up and it was .73 AND the fee is on sliding scale based on purchase. I should be given an itemized receipt. To be treated so rudely is inexcusable by any employee of a business. FYI Walmart, Safeway, Target and many others DO NOT charge a surcharge at the register on purchases. Shame on you Breakwater for your snarky attitude and thievery on the public’s personal credit cards. And by the way…my daughter’s cod had a worm in the fish. For the price charged should have been a better clean job before cooking. My prawns were...

Update to previous review: Been eating here for years and they do have good food but on this last visit on 09/19/2024 ordered the Breakwater Seafood Platter as a combo and an extra bowl of chowder for a quick early dinner to share between myself and spouse only to bite into pin bones on 2 separate pieces of fish. And yes I know it happens but when I politely informed the lady working the cash register and gave her the pin bones on the tray she just said they don’t cut it in house and it comes from a vendor. No apology, just went back to doing whatever she was doing. Customer service has just gotten so sad!☹️ The restroom also had a funky smell to it this time.

Previous and still valid review: The fries 🍟 really are the best! Great seafood. The butterflied battered prawns are incredible. They have the best fries (lightly battered?) Nice and crispy while still being moist inside. Nice outdoor seating over the water however you do hear the traffic over the grated bridge deck that is adjacent to the restaurant. It does not interfere with talking to each other at the tables so not a big deal as far as I...

Went there after razor clamming. The place was nice, clean and cozy, but was kinda cold inside. The staff was friendly. The cost was kind pricy especially for just fried food. We had the combo with fries (calamari/squid, fish sticks, scallops, shrimp). It came with 2 pieces of each. It was average, not worth the price for this dish. The grilled cheese and oysters were good. Clam chowder was good towards average. I didn't like the flavor of the Cole slaw. However, the fries were amazing, crispy outside and soft inside, not overcooked. I like Linda's at South Bend and Spuds in the Seattle area much better. If I came back I'd get the fries, grilled cheese and oysters, but pass on the rest.
