I usally suggest this place for breakfast especially to folks from out of town because it's one of the best places for breakfast. I was disappointed today. I knew going in that Mac's sanitation score has dropped, yet even during a pandemic I chose to eat here (risking my health). Last time I ate here, I had to reorder my grits (lumpy and cold even on the second try)but I would give another try. There's a sign that says, "Please Seat Yourself" however judging from the crowd inside, I just looked around, waiting for a cue from a waiter or waitress to assure it was ok to find a seat. The cashier gave me the cue. The entire place was full yet I found the only table that looked like it was being worked on (a bottle of sanitzer was on it) and sat down. The waitress taking the order at the next table graciously "peeked" at me as she continued taking orders. I was not in a hurry and as a former restaurant manager I was confident she was going to help me or someone would. So yes, I sat at the table with a few grains of sugar on it and a little sticky stuff. Before I blinked good, another waitress slammed her coffee pot on the table, wiped of a few crumbs, pulled out her order pad and asked me what was I drinking? Wow, no hello or eye contact, and seemingly frustration (attitude), took my order and left. Now, I get it was busy and probably short staffed but as "seasoned" as this waitress is, all those fine grains of sugar on the table and the sticky stuff should have been wiped off the table and I would not expect less from this staff member. I observed the same staff member clear off a table for a different group, she did it with such professionalism, unlike with me. It left me wondering why I, a long time patron with little complaints, was treated differently. The first waitress had no problems wiping off the remaining residue off my table when I asked her and she did it with a smile and feedback. She personally got my tip today and I told her thank you for doing that with a smile. My grits, hot today but still lumpy. Come on Mac's, get...

Being in the Moore county area for a number of years previously, Mac's was always a childhood favorite. You could always count on 10/10 comfort food.….. pancakes, omelets, grits. sandwiches, french toast, you name it. Reliable service & friendly atmosphere.
I returned for nostalgia I can honestly say that the food is just as good as it always was, but you're better off enjoying it as takeout. Wont be dining in again hopeful changes can be made so Mac's can be what...
Read moreI have been to several of the Mac's franchises and the worst problem I ever had was an over-helpful waitress checking on me every 3 minutes!!! I LOVE Mac's!! There is never a wait to be seated and your order is ready quicker than anyplace I have ever eaten before. The staff is always friendly , helpful and competent. The menu is varied and there is a daily special, not just for breakfast but lunch as well. They serve both breakfast and lunch foods in a pleasant bustling atmosphere. Their food is excellent and freshly prepared with real ingredients and the price is more than reasonable. I would recommend the sausage and gravy whole- heartedly!! You are lucky if you can finish it!! The biscuits are huge!! Home fries are wonderful and flavorful as well. I have never been disappointed eating there. My only wish is they would stay open for dinner too!! I like to bring friends from out of town there and they all rave about Mac's, their food and prices!! Once I ate there with 3 other friends and we ordered so much food, you could barely fit it on our table! But we managed to finish it all!! In a nutshell, they have earned their 5...
