My partner and I went to this restaurant tonight. It was our first time eating at Fogo de Chao. We were overall disappointed with the food and especially with the customer service. The salad bar was good, but the meat that they were serving did not have any seasoning. We wouldn’t mind the meat if there were salt and pepper at our table. We couldn’t ask our waiter or anyone else because we were being ignored the entire time we were there. When we were seated at our table, no one did not acknowledged us or asked if we wanted water, we sat there waiting until someone asked us did anyone asked us if we wanted water. We said no and thankfully he took our drink orders.
Later in the middle of our meal, I was waiting patiently for our server to ask us if we needed anything else. I was very thirsty, and no one even our server did not come to our table. I even try to get another server attention and he saw me then walked away. I had to wait until the end of my meal once we got our check to get a 2nd refill of water.
Another issue we had was we were waiting for our bill for a long time, we sat there not touching our food and trying our best to politely get someone’s attention for the check. They kept walking past us. One time my partner tried to politely ask a male server for our check and walked away while my boyfriend was speaking to him. We were shocked.
Then we finally got the male server again, he got us our check. We noticed that he billed us for 2 diet cokes that we didn’t order. We told him and he corrected it, but we still had to wait even longer. We have been waiting already for a long time just to pay the bill. We were trying to be understanding and patient because he wasn’t our waiter. He was trying to help, so we were not upset with him. We like to thank him for getting us the bill because if it wasn’t for him we would be staying there even longer since we were being ignored.
We waiting even longer for someone to come by our table to pick up the check after it was corrected.
We were upset with the upper management of this place because we understand that there were big groups that night. The waiters were busy than usual, but it doesn’t make it right or fair to ignore other customers. We were very polite and trying to be understanding, so we didn’t make a scene. We quietly left and decided that we won’t be returning to this restaurant or any Fogo De Chao establishment.
We were very disappointed with our first experience at Fogo De Chao. It was not was welcoming. We had a better dining and customer service with Texas De Brazil in Addison. We will going back to Texas De Brazil because of the customer service that we have received. Thank you to the male server that did try to help us. We appreciate it.
Updating as of 11/22/24 - I sent an email on 11/18/24 to feedback@fogo.com with my contact information and availability. As of 11/22, no one has reached out via email or phone call. Again, I am disappointed with the Fogo de Chao’s...
Read moreTLDR: This Fogo location never recovered from the pandemic and it's a shell of what it used to be. Fogo used to feel like a classy place to go. This was far from classy, but still carried the same expense.
I have many fond memories at this Fogo location and I've been a handful of times over the past 15 years. Unfortunately, my wife and I ended up being very disappointed in our date night dinner decision.
Our server was terrible. Not mean, or rude. Just miserably incompetent. In fact it was so bad at moments that we questioned whether or not he actually was our server. When he greeted us, he asked if we had been there before. I said not in many years and my wife said never. He responded by saying "oh okay well you're both doing the full experience?" He didn't explain what the experience was or what it entailed and just pointed at the salad bar and walked off. Once the meats started coming around, my wife commented on the lack of variety which made me think perhaps they had reduced the offerings since my last visit. Lo and behold, over an hour later after they had cleared our plates, 4-5 meats we had not seen before started coming around. Just seemed like bad planning or logistics. On multiple occasions the items (drinks, sides) that the server said we was getting for us, would never appear, and neither would he. At the end of the meal he awkwardly offered us a free desert and said we had to say "mmm so delicious" as we were eating it. He walked off to get the desert menu and then when he came back he basically tossed it onto the table as he walked to another. Very bizarre. It felt like something that would happen at a Denny's at 1 am. Maybe it was everything that had happened up until that point but I also was not impressed by the meats considering the price tag. Finally, the aesthetic and decor feels old and run down. It could use a little facelift.
The one saving grace was they still know how to make a solid cocktail. The caipirinhas were fantastic.
Overall, we were shocked and disappointed, and honestly we are not super picky or hard to please. It's very rare that I leave anything but 5 star reviews for places. I hope that someday I go back to Fogo and can recapture the great memories I have from the past. Unfortunately I don't think that will be...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to dine at Fogo de Chao Addison, and I find myself compelled to share a comprehensive review of my visit, hoping to offer constructive feedback for the betterment of the establishment.
Upon arrival, my party faced an unexpected challenge as the manager displayed hesitancy in seating us due to the absence of two friends. While I understand the need to manage reservations, the manager's demeanor was less than welcoming and set a disconcerting tone for the evening. Clear communication and a more accommodating approach would have greatly improved the initial impression.
Despite this initial hiccup, we proceeded with the dining experience. The culinary journey, characterized by the renowned continuous tableside service, showcased an array of succulent meats and a well-curated salad bar. The servers attending to our table were notably attentive, enhancing the overall gastronomic experience.
Regrettably, the positive aspects of the evening were overshadowed by an incident that unfolded during the settlement of the bill. Having generously tipped each steak server $20, we did not anticipate the subsequent confrontation with another manager outside the restaurant. This manager approached us to question the perceived inadequacy of our tip, an action that I find not only surprising but also profoundly unprofessional.
This unexpected and uncomfortable exchange detracted significantly from the overall dining experience. The purpose of tipping is to express gratitude for exceptional service, and it is disheartening to encounter a situation where this gesture is not only questioned but also challenged.
In offering this review, my intention is not to disparage but to highlight areas where improvements can be made. A more amiable and customer-centric approach from the management, particularly during moments of disagreement, would undoubtedly contribute to a more positive atmosphere.
I believe Fogo de Chao Addison has the potential to provide exceptional dining experiences, and with attention to these aspects, it can regain the trust and loyalty of patrons. I hope this feedback serves as a catalyst for positive change and contributes to the continuous improvement of this esteemed...
