Las Palmas Restaurant — Restaurant in Addison

I was recommended this place as having “buena comida” (good food). I went with my mother, and we were both disappointed with the food! I had mondongo soup and some were long uncut cold chunks, which means they didn’t thawed them out to prepare them for cooking. The empanadas were crusty, and fair in taste (I’ve had plenty of empanadas Colombian style in different places and they have been superior). The chicken milanesa my mother ordered was not that good (I’ve eaten milanesa in different Latin food restaurants and they have been above in taste and presentation). I rate the food of Las Palmas as mid range (2 1/2 stars out 5). The service was good though! Also very disappointing was that this restaurant automatically charges a 20% fee for tip (management at this place imposes this tip percentage on the receipts), and they expect the customers to pay an extra tip percentage printed on the receipt that they keep, to which I gladly wrote INCLUIDO (included). I don’t like deceiving or tricking patrons with this kind of dared impositions by many customer service businesses. I’ve worked many years in the customer service industry and it makes me sick how greedy the culture has become in general. It is disgusting to see and feel how many of these service businesses impose high percentage tip fees and want extra tips above those imposed. All in all, the prices on this restaurant are high in comparison to other Colombian and Latin food restaurants I’ve eaten at, with much better food quality, some even with gourmet food and less expensive!!!! I won’t go back to eat at Las Palmas restaurant, nor either order food online from this place!!!! This place lost me as a loyal customer I could have become. I don‘t recommend and won’t recommend this...

Bad attention. Claustrophobic place Waitresses peseteras. Expensive for product quality. Low quality of service. The manager wanted us to leave what we were consuming unfinished and turned off the lights. He is a skinny tall Colombian. Obviously we left and before getting into the cars. He called the police to continue the bad treatment of the client, alleging a disturbance at the scene. The officer when he arrived apologized to us for the false report. I do not recommend it at all. There are many more places to visit. Don't waste your time or money on this site.

Mala atención. Lugar claustrofóbico Meseras peseteras. Costoso para la calidad del producto. Baja calidad de servicio. El manager quería que dejáramos lo que estábamos consumiendo sin terminar y apago las luces. Es un flaco alto colombiano. Obvio nos salimos y antes de montarnos en los carros. Llamó a la policía para seguir con el mal trato al cliente, alegando disturbios en el lugar. El oficial cuando llegó nos pidió disculpas por la falsa denuncia. No lo recomiendo para nada. Hay muchos más sitios que conocer. No pierdan su tiempo ni dinero en este sitio.

Last night my family and I were there, I was showing my husband this place because we want to celebrate my birthday next feb 5th, everything was ok until we get the receipt, they automatically add 18% tip, just in a family of 4 (if you counted my children)my husband my 2 years old boy my 9 months baby girl and myself, we were disappointed with it but we didn’t said anything about it and paid the $90 dollars with 2 bills of 50, expecting they will give us the change ($10) the waiter just said bye to us and don’t even try bring the change, my husband just let from and I still waiting for my change, I literally asked the waiter to give me my change because they already charged us the service in that $90, and he give me that 10 dollars without even said a world to me, the saddest thing was the manager who was there and didn’t said anything either. they are hustler, how many people go through this every single day? How much they stole from the people with this practice, I will never go to this place anymore I already tell my family and friends about it and of course they will never go too, so you guys try to stole my 10 dollars and charge me 18% but you guys lose a reservation of thousand and clients, after this of course I will not reserved for my 30th birthday and I will go to the only Colombian restaurant that deserves every dollar from me, casa vieja.
