Had such a terrible experience here tonight. We’ve ordered over 20 (over $100 each time) in the past two months through DoorDash. When we ordered 2 rolls, chicken katsu, and a salad. We were missing the chicken katsu so my fiancé called and spoke to a gentleman on the phone. My fiancé handed the phone to his sister and she said what was happening.. the man on the phone proceeded to tell her “stop yelling at me, I’m going to help you..” in shock she didn’t understand how she was yelling as I was sitting there as well and didn’t hear an ounce of disrespect. We ended up just getting the credit through DoorDash, which we tried to remedy with the restaurant. Fast forward to tonight, October 2, we ordered through DoorDash again for ourselves. Within about 5 minutes, we had a notification that the order had been cancelled. My fiancé called to ask why and was told it was because he ordered 20 sauces, our receipt said 9 total. We always order sauce so we didn’t really understand especially when we got the email before the cancellation that we were charged $4 extra for the sauces. I then called to find out why when we order sauce all the time. The manager on duty said it was because we ordered 20 sauces.. then he changed his tone and said I’m going to be honest.. it was because you were rude and disrespectful to me last time. I tried to explain that no one was rude, four people were sitting around the woman he spoke to last time and no one said she was rude. Long story short, because our meal was missing and our family member called to get it replaced, we have been denied service for an issue that really didn’t happen. The manager proceeded to hang up on me. Fiancé called again only to be hung up. My fiancé ended up going to the restaurant to just be able to get in contact with the owner when the manager gave him an invalid email address. We are nice people who choose to take our business to a restaurant locally only to be banned for no apparent reason. I really hope the owner sees this and realizes that this is a small town. A family of 20 orders through this restaurant, not just the two of us. I really don’t think the owner would be okay with the manager lying and refusing service for their mistake. I hope no one else has gone...
Read moreI'm an out-of-town visitor and NOT a local Republican-type yuppie (not a stuffy Democrat either) so use my review as a more realistic reference: Sushi Su's food quality is delicious and the pricing and portions are better than most other Sushi restaurants in the Agoura Hills / Thousand Oaks area. However, unlike my fellow customers, the aforementioned yuppies, I didn't order alcohol and hence my bill came in just under $50. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere interior is quite nice though it is rather cramped and, as a tall person just over six-feet, it was a bit claustrophobic but this is a minor nitpick. The REAL problem are the a**-hole type customers who go there as this is the Agoura Hills area and their locals are not forgiving of outsiders regardless who they are. I have been indirectly AND directly insulted by my dining neighbors during my various visits there so be wary that you'll be dinning with overrated scum and their moronic progeny at times. Let us end on a high note and mention that Sushi Su is right next to a Regency Theater and, although the theater itself is average at best, the location is convenient for a movie and dinner night with easy...
Read moreGreat quality fish, and very large cuts of fish on the sushi pieces. I tried their tuna, salmon, albacore, rock shrimp, oyster, and eel and they were all great. It’s surprisingly hard to find a place to get oyster shooters or at that uni shooters, they have both and theirs are great! We had lovely Service (sitting at the sushi bar), we had our sushi chef making everything very quickly in front of us, a server coming around for little things we forgot like miso soup and drinks, and a third person asking if we needed anything and refilling waters as soon as they were finished. I eat a LOT of fish when I go out for sushi, and like I mentioned before ordered : salmon and albacore sushi pieces, a specialty roll, rock shrimp tempura, crispy tuna rice, multiple miso soups, an oyster shooter, a tea, dessert and I know I’m missing a few tings all for under $100 (for those who know, know that is very good). I grew up going to in my opinion the most incredible sushi joint run by the most lovely elderly Japanese couple, and this is the only place that I feel has come close. We will surly be back soon and often!! If you are a sushi lover like me go and enjoy plenty of really...
