Shamus's Sandwich Shoppe — Restaurant in Airway Heights

I've eaten here a few times. I love how good the food is and how fast its ready. I love the large cups and chips with your sandwiches. I took my first bite and instantly had a hair in my teeth. Grosses out I stayed calm and tried not to make a scene. This has never happened before, I love this place, food, atmosphere ect. I was so sick to my stomach it was so hard to not gag and puke right there. I sat at the bar for about 30 minutes and not one person asked me how my food was or anything. They two girls working were talking and walking around but I was to embarrassed to say anything to get their attention. I kept thinking I'll stay quiet and when someone comes over to check on me I'll show them the hair on my napkin. Sick to my stomach, frustrated and tired of waiting I took about 5 pictures of the hair and left. Never had a bad experience until now. Good food...

I don't think there is a better sandwich place anywhere and I've traveled the world twice. Whether its a small or large order the sandwiches are piled with meat. The staff have always been really friendly and actually look like they enjoy their job. Every time I'm in town I get some sandwiches to go for the family and we have never been disappointed or left hungry. Honestly it's even cheaper then any fast food place and they quality and quantity is 100% better. Need to get more of those sweet tart airforce guys and gals to stop in there instead of going to the fast food places. The picture below is me holding half of the Smokehouse sandwich "small" size. Kind of dark exterior, so we couldn't tell right away that it was open.

Huge layout w bar seating and "dining" area seating. Fire place was a welcome sight bc of the damp weather.

Super friendly staff/owner. All breads are fresh made daily: rye, white, wheat, south dough.

Huge Sammy! We got the large Italian for $9!! And so big we easily shared.

Clam chowder and chicken rice soup were delish! Plenty of clams and chicken.

Finally a giant pnut butter cookie for dessert.

I would be here as a regular, if I lived in town. The portions were large, fresh and quality meats/toppings and welcoming...
