Restaurants on this side of town have always been subpar: either it's some corporate chain or a sad uninspired small business. NOMI is the first restaurant I've experienced on this side of town where I felt my money was well spent. From the moment we walked in the owner: neil and his staff treated us like royalty. I ordered some nigiri to start the toro was melt in your mouth and the king salmon was rich and cut perfectly. We moved on to the tuna tataki which had a nice pepper crust on it. For entrees I ordered the chirashi and my wife ordered the NOMI special. Both presentations were exceptionally vibrant and meticulously designed. All the raw cuts I tasted seemed to be really fresh. We shared some wine from a fair selection and paired our entrees with a warm house sake. Neil and our server Jay went above and beyond to show us they appreciated our visit. From the complimentary amuse-bouche (some kind of tartar), to the free sashimi they gave me on the side to replace the shrimp on my dish because I neglected to tell them I had an allergy, all the way to the manner in which the staff walked out together to serve every dish. My wife and I felt like esteemed guests they were fervently trying to impress. All the while we were dressed in jeans and crocs for what was supposed to be an uber-casual night out. These people care about their craft and their guests. Nomi exposes restaurants like Fuji sushi, sushi 99, and others in this area for the subpar fare they really are. I can't recommend it enough, come try it for yourself. Just make sure you bring some extra cash when you do, so you can give the hard working staff the fat tips...
Read moreThe best part is that they Know and are fully complicit in this Fraud and Scammers ! Be ware of such unethical business and thieves !
This was a pick up order --- so not even delivery or dine in !! They charged 30% more without my consent or even any pre-notice !
As they didn't disclose the Price differences in clear fine print or even gave me (Any customer) the opportunity to know that they are unethical business! They are trying to cover up their filthy and cheap approach to put the blame on Uber Eats while they are the main part of this staged fake pricing.
They over charged for the order and their portions and tiny, beside the quality is below average ! Not fresh at all! Especially their mango! Shame on you!
I want my money back!
King Salmon Nigiri and Sashimi (2pcs) at $15.95 while they charged me $20.42!!! Tuna Nigiri And Sashimi (2pcs) at $6.50 but they charged $8.32 !!!! Salmon Love Roll at $13.95 but they charged $17.86 !!!! Sweet Heart Roll at $13.95 but they charged $17.86 Mango Shrimp Roll at $13.95 but they charged $17.86 Super Volcano Roll at $15.95 but they charged $20.42

From $102.74 to $66.3 is a huge difference in pricing ! As they are giving themselves the excuse that it is 30% !!! Imagine paying 30% for nonsense and bad quality food and false advertisement without disclosing any price differences !! That is what is pure fraud is about !
Let people know what type of business they are...
Read moreI'll start positive by saying the atmosphere and feel of the restaurant feel fantastic. The plating for some of the dishes is definitely good for photos. And the service is friendly and polite.
Now the not so good news is the food is somewhere between meh and okay. I got some very basic stuff I always get to test the waters of a new sushi place. I got tuna tataki and a volcano roll, and my wife got chicken hibachi and the sweetheart roll.
The tataki was the first to arrive and ... it looked great but I was suprised to find it was the worst tataki I've ever had (i get this at every sushi spot I try). It was absolutely encrusted in nothing but pepper so that each bite was just a mouth full of pepper. I couldn't even taste the fish. On top of that, there was no ponzu sauce to cut through it, or anything else going for it other than straight pepper. It was a bad start with a pretty straight forward dish. On a side note, 6 pieces for $13 feels like sashimi prices but I dont know what the price of fish is these days.
Other than that, my volcano roll was okay with good presentation, the chicken hibachi was okay but the chicken texture was a little slimey feeling, and the sweetheart roll was good according to my wife.
The service was a little inattentive, and I dont think we got refills on...
