We came to Spinning Bones on a Sunday at 2 pm. There was no wait which was great. This was our first time and we were pleasantly surprised! The food is fresh, beautiful, and delicious. We started with the corn fritters - crispy and clean with a strawberry sauce. We would like them better with a Japanese mayo/jalapeno or something savory as the fritters themselves are sweet but they are still delicious. We also got the crispy brussel sprouts which were REALLY good. Nice and crunchy with crispy onions on top with a salty aspect. Everyone really enjoyed their main entrees. We shared a Rainbow Rice Bowl which was very tasty and fresh. The flavor was heightened by adding sriracha to give it a little kick. We also shared a veggie burger with added jalapeno's. It was very good. I would've liked to add avocado to it but it was delicious regardless. It comes with Japanese potato salad which is very good as well - extremely creamy. The veggie burger was moist and hearty. The added jalapeno's helped bring it up a notch. The bun was soft and the condiments paired very well together. The ribs are tender and the bbq sauce is flavorful. The Japanese sesame coleslaw was sooo good! I must try to copy it! The DESSERTS! We did the coconut mochi butter cake, chocolate peanut butter oatmeal sea salt tart, and the special Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookie sundae. They were all three so good we couldn't rate any of them better than the other! You are not going wrong with ordering desserts here! We're very glad we came here and will return when in the area! ❤️

Decided to stop by Spinning Bones for the first time and I'm so glad I did. The place has a variety of selections to choose from and has a nice interior that I was not expecting looking at the restaurant from the outside. Service was outstanding, the staff knew exactly what we wanted almost before we did and provided excellent recommendations. I tried the chicken fat rice and it was scrumptious. The rice was cooked with the chicken and was cooked very well. It was topped with flaky salt and fried chicken skin which made it even more delicious. The chicken nuggets were prepared in the same way you would find fried calamari and it was a unique surprisingly tasty experience. The winner here though is the meat. The 3 little pigs are a must try. The combination of spare rips, pork shoulder slices and pulled pork served with a homemade bbq sauce and jalapeno chimichurri is simply divine. My favorite was the pulled pork with a few drops of each sauce mixed together. The desserts were top tier so make sure you save room for them. In summary, if you are remotely considering this place just go. You will not find a better dining experience at this price point period. Spinning Bones is now one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay area.

Playfully crafted, fun cocktails that pair well with their food, which happens to be a hidden gem of Alameda. Courteous service that isn't obtrusive nor absent, i haven't dined with Spinning Bones since before the pandemic hit. Our go-tos are the Trip's Triple, which gives you a trio assortment of moist, flavorfully cooked animal proteins with two piquant sauces (chimichurri or jalapeño Garum) and a side of tossed greens: the fried chicken sando (their mochiko chicken is so addictive): and their corn fritters, which are more like hush puppies than the Thai/Asian style corn fritters with loads of corn kernels and less batter, which come with a delightful house Made strawberry jam. The chicken lickin' appetizer is also a winner, with it's side of house-seasoned Kewpie aioli. I recently had the Mi-Loc shochu cocktail, which was just the right balance of fun fruity flavors and alcohol, served in an adorable Maneki Neko 'Money Cat' tiki mug, but more than one and you gotta stick your pinky out! Their outdoor seating doesn't have heaters, so dress warmly/bring a blanket!

🌹 Title: Golden Bloodline (They Always Had My Six) © Sir LiraFox | LIRAFOX Legacy

I'm in love with the fans not for praise or show But 'cause I feel in my soul they already know Who had my six when I walked through flame Wasn't just God it was fam that stayed unnamed

The ones that stayed quiet but never strayed Watchin from shadows while I carved this blade Refused to sell out, couldn’t break they oath So they loved me in silence to protect 'em both

Whole lives built around keepin me safe Tucked in codes I ain’t seen ‘til I broke out the cage Now the veil fall slow and I feel that glow Like they been prayin in secret just to watch me grow

I look back now at the mothers of mine The women I loved in fragmented time The children we made with no script or map But the stars in they eyes said the blood don’t cap

And maybe their kin seen the truth too raw Saw the gift in the kids and it dropped they jaw 'Cause my seed don’t blend, it erupt and shine Little bigger better mirrors of my fire and mind

Some quiet, some loud, some rage like me Some draw whole worlds you can’t even see But they all move different, like born with flame Like they know deep down they was made from pain

And I wonder if the mothers feel it now Like their skin turn gold from the sacred vow Like the light of my line done touched their soul And gave ‘em a pass when the trumpets roll

Maybe they dream of the storm I ride Maybe they knew what I was and just cried Maybe they warned by the grandmas and priest "This child not normal, he rise like beast"

And the children—yo, they wild with grace Got that look like they seen God's face And when they move, the world gets still Like they bend time off natural will

I was lost, I admit, I ain’t see the script But I feel all the love that I almost missed From the cousins, the sisters, the ones in the cut That saw my soul when the world said “shut”

They never said much but I felt the shield Even when the whole road tried to make me yield And now I rise with the whole fam wide Like my reach touch blood I ain't even tried

The women, the children, the souls in bloom The ones who glow like stars in the womb Maybe it's fate or maybe it's plan But I see now I’m just part of the clan

So yeah, I’m in love with the fans for real ‘Cause they part of the army that kept me sealed Now the truth pour out, and the line stay thick And I bow to the ones who...

Returned here for the 2nd year to celebrate my birthday. Food was spot on fantastic, fresh, delicious, & perfectly prepared. However, we found some aspects disappointing this year.

1st, $17.00 for a cold appetizer made of 2 oz ball of fresh cheese, 1/4 of a peach, & some arugula is highway robbery! A seasoned server would have listed the prices of the daily specials along with the descriptions; but it's on us for not thinking to ask! Nearly fell outta my chair when I saw that on the bill!!😱😱 Lesson learned! Do yourself the favor of saving your $$ & skipping this item!

2nd, While their kitchen used to be far more flexible with dietary-driven changes & substitutions, this time was far harder to get the same. Only when realizing the potential loss of a $40 sale did they find a way to change out a veggie option for a different veggie option! I mean... really?!?! I know supplies are tight, but is it REALLY all that hard to sub out broccalinni for arugula?!?!😱😱😱 Anyway...

And 3rd, while here for a past birthday dinner and offered a complimentary dessert item of choice, no such offer was mentioned this time. True, they were sold out of the best dessert item they have (banana pudding❣❣), but they could have offered another item instead. This IS why we go out to celebrate special occasions, for the moments of "making a big deal" outta events; ESPECIALLY when we've been unable to do so with big groups for now the 3rd year running! And for an $80.00 meal you'd think a birthday dessert would be a given! Oh well....

We'll probably go back eventually because we like the food. But it'll be a while again before we do, because the disappointment for the cost isn't the...
