When Highwire arrived in Alameda, great coffee was hard to come by. Highwire really takes coffee making to an art, but in a timely and efficient manner.
One star loss mainly due to parking. If you're driving and looking to grab a cup on your way out of town, then give yourself +5 - 10 minutes to find parking. Sometimes the Parking gods will be on your side and you'll find a spot on Park street right out front of the shop. Otherwise, take a cruise down San Jose Ave, San Antonio Ave. or parallel Oak street to find parking.
They also offer dog treats for your pup as well as a 'doggie parking' area where you can tie your dog up right out front before entering the very small store front.

I especially like the seasonal drinks, and my daughter loves the apple juice. My go-to is usually one of the seasonal drinks and a bagel and cream cheese or these muffins they have that have an egg inside (did I mention I'm bad...
