My visit to Park Social six days ago was my second visit. The visit Saturday was a celebration of their first year in business. They had raffles, giveaways and deals. The first visit there I purchased two jars of liquid flower topical balm (red label). They gave me a 20% discount. That was a reasonable deal compared to Ivy Hill Cannabis Dispensary in Oakland. Second time I purchased more items (Papa Barkley's topical balm, a strawberry sparkling water and a tee shirt for my husband. I have been to other cannabis dispensaries in town and in Oakland. Park Social is easy for me to get there by public transportation. Besides I like the shopping district in Downtown Alameda.

To say I’m impressed would be such a dramatic understatement. I firmly believe that this is best menu in the East Bay. I’ve worked in cannabis for years and purchased/marketed for retail stores as well - you typically get a menu tailored towards the ā€œheadyā€ enthusiast or you get a menu tailored to intro accessibility - today I saw a menu that did both with exceptional poise and accuracy. bless whoever the talented human is that buys for this store. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a better job done.

The space itself is just about as authentic to the area as it could be. It’s friendly, warm, inviting, clean, and innovative. Beyond a plus that there is a community space attached to the side as well - it’s so important to build a community around a shop, this place just executes.

JD helped us and gave us a tour - he was knowledgeable, funny, kind, and clearly passionate about the plant. If you’re reading this JD, I’ll be back to dweeb out with you again soon. Really appreciate you taking a moment with us.

A true testament to what a dispensary should be, I’d give it 7 stars out of 5 if I...

I tried this place with a local friend. The people are friendly, and the store wasn't crowded at all (Sunday, around 2 p.m.). We were able to get help on edibles. We had two dogs with us, and that wasn't a problem at all. They also gave a discount coupon for the first visit, which was nice! My only real issue is that I ordered quite a few items, and when checking out, I assumed that there would be a receipt inside the bag so I could cross check when I got home, but there wasn't. And of course when I got home (SF), it looked like one item was missing, which is fine, I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't charged for it (and I can get it next time). I called their number and left a voicemail as no one answered. So we'll see. But there really should be a receipt so people don't leave and wonder whether they were charged for items that...
