Lucky 13 — Restaurant in Alameda

Pretty good local dive bar. On busy nights they've got like three bartenders usually, so you probably won't have to wait too long to get a drink if you can squeeze in. Music is pretty good but depends on who's bartending; I've heard everything from classic hip hop to modern Thrash Metal. No complaints here. I only take off one star because the atmosphere isn't my favorite. It's got nothing to do with the service, it's always been good here.

The food has always been overpriced, but it comes with the convenience of having it delivered to you in the bar. Plus, it really is delicious. Just be prepared to drop $35 on a burger and fries and whatever drink you got. As for drinks, they've usually got a good mix of local craft beer, imported stuff, and cheap domestic stuff like PBR on tap. I don't believe I've ever seen anyone drink bud or Coors here, but it's California after all. Fine by me. They've got a great selection of bourbon, whiskey, gin, tequila, anything you'd want really. I'm not a cocktail guy so I can't really speak on that front, but the one time I had a Moscow mule it was STRONG. So if that's your jam then you might be happy.

Bartenders are great and pretty fast. It kind of amazes me how they always get my order right even when the music is incredibly loud. On that topic, it gets LOUD on Friday nights and weekend nights in general. If you wanna have a good conversation with your buddy, go to the back patio or somewhere else. Weeknights are better...

WARNING VIOLENT BARTENDERS AND MANAGEMENT

At 9:05 pm tonight I watched the bar manager, a bar worker and a patron together assault a female customer. She was pushed off of the barstool by one of them and fell loudly on the floor, then the three men violently her dragged out of the bar upside down and by her feet, knocking her head on the floor along the way. The bar manager sat on the woman's legs on the sidewalk and the patron pushed her down for several minutes - with his knee on her neck. They seemed to be twisting her arm. She asked several times for them to get off of her; they did not. I was filming this with my cell phone and more than one of the employees asked me to stop filming. I was then on the public sidewalk so I did not. The firemen came, and finally the police. Her shirt was halfway off and she was screaming for them to let her go as she was half naked and being forced onto the ground, face first. She was arrested; the three men who assaulted her were not. If you are the victim and need this footage for legal reasons I will give it to you. For everyone else, please know that the people who run this business are extremely violent and overreactive to typical bar situations. I have never seen a customer...

Stopped by here on the way home to use the restroom and stayed for a beer since this nice gentleman part of a celebrate of life party offered me a beer. The atmosphere of the place is divey which I absolutely love, very friendly people…… except for the bartender. Seemed like a busy day with only her behind the bar but she was very avoidant to me since I walked in the door. Yes, I look young but I also have nine years of bartender experience. She stuck up her nose instantly, even though I had my ID ready like I usually do cause I look like I could be underage still. (meh 😔🤭) I just felt bad for the dude that just lost someone being treated so poorly just because he bought me a beer after closing out. (Which she also said she had a 20 minimum, which isn’t true being a bar. You are gonna force everyone to spend 20 if they only wanted a $8 beer) Tisk Tisk. Hopefully it was just a bad day and maybe they had rubbed her wrong, I would still check it out. Cool...
