I’m literally going to embarrass myself with the images I’m including.
So unfortunately I am not a fan of what I left with. Problem #1 I don’t understand what is the point of sending the pictures for inspo and “match” me to stylist if : I didn’t get what I had asked for Sorry but it’s like somebody explained the pictures to her and that’s it. Why match me with a stylist that has NEVER done baby bangs before? NOW is not the time to experiment. (She also mentioned this AFTER I had asked her to fix after what I thought was a rough chop.)
Problem #2 My bangs. MY BANGS. after crying in the parking lot, I went home and fixed them. I asked for baby bangs and now I have almost micro bangs. I said I wanted them cut straight across and if they could be feathered or anything that’ll take the weight off of them since I wasn’t looking for the typical BLUNT cut baby bangs. She stated she could do that and I trusted her. I shouldn’t have. I now know what I needed, was out of her scope of capabilities & I wish that she had just said that to me. I would have been upset, but I wouldn’t have been mad. I didn’t see what she was doing because I couldn’t. I’m blind I didn’t have my glasses on. Now you’re going to ask yourself, “Katherine why didn’t you say something?” I DID. she cut them after washing my hair and said “let me just cut your bangs right now so that they’re out of your face.” Ok cool. They were wet and it was a very ROUGH chop. By the time my bangs dried, they were lopsided & not what I asked for. So when I was asked me how I felt about them???? What do you mean babe? They look like my toddler got scissor happy. Anyway, as she’s fixing then she says “baby bangs are so different, I’ve never done these before.” EXCUSE ME?? If I can cut them in my bathroom with my sally beauty scissors WITHOUT MY GLASSES ON what the heck happened. Why did they curve above my right eye brow? Why was I given crooked half moon bangs? I would have been much happier with Bettie bangs.
Problem # 3 I asked for choppy layers and if anything I got a refresher on what I already had. Aka a trim. I wanted something new and different. I left looking like I usually do but with less hair.
Did I pay for the service? Sadly. Why? Because I had already asked for 2 fixes and still left looking the way I did, was in disbelief that the pictures were never referenced & my tot was starting to lose it. I didn’t have the energy to say anything anymore. Did I tip? Also yes because I blacked out.
Now do what you will with this review. This is my experience and it doesn’t necessarily mean you will also have an awful one. Yes everyone makes mistakes but to experiment with somebody’s hair ain’t it. Go get a mannequin, clip on bangs,...
Read moreIF YOU WANT TO LEAVE IN TEARS OF DISAPPOINTMENT, BOOK HERE.
Not only will you waste your time and energy sending inspo photos and asking every question you can prior/during your appointment just to have your head hacked, but they have the audacity of slapping on a HIDDEN FEE that was NEITHER DISCLOSED ON THE WEBSITE OR PRIOR TO THE SERVICE. Cute, not shady at all.
A haircut was booked. What was received was barely a trim, bowl cut bangs you have to fix yourself, and overinflated pricing on a service/style someone didn’t know how to perform.
When I say bowl cut bangs? Coconut head from Ned’s Declassified. Oliver Tree. “Do the roar” kid from Shrek. YES, THAT BAD. It looked like a bowl and a mullet made a baby together until we fixed it the best we could.
Now they’re stating the fee that was added WASN’T for “long hair” like the receipt shows, it’s because they curled it. The haircut didn’t look right, CLEARLY, so the hairdresser suggested styling it without disclosing the extra fee that came with her suggestion.
It’s almost like any other business, especially those in beauty, informs you of every add on charge prior to doing anything you ask for. Go figure.
Advertising $44-$65 only for it to be over $100 by the time a visibly dissatisfied customer gets to the register...
Read moreJust moved to Alamagordo and looking for a new place to get my hair cut. I have an undercut hair style, which many places can't seem to get right. Serenity has great reviews so I thought why not. I am 100% impressed!! Everything is great from the atmosphere of the building, the layout, the nice music down to how clean it is. Jennette was my hair stylist and she is great! Most hairdressers like to rush through my hair cut because it's shot, they like to rush the buzz cut and they think it works. However anyone who has had this hair cut or done it well knows that attention to detail is key. Jennette made sure it was cut evenly, the edges were cut clean all the way around and even remembered to cut the straggler baby hairs that like to poke out. I appreciate the extra time she spent and I feel like she took pride in the hair cut, which makes me happy as well :-)
In addition, I talk for a living so when I get my hair cut, I like to sit back and just enjoy the peace and quit. I appreciate her sensing that and lelling us both enjoy the wonderful atmosphere and nice music.
Every little things helps and it all added up to a wonderful experience! I will 100% be back and if you need someone to cut your hair, ask...
