Well here we go again. I reluctantly ordered through a delivery service and there was a place for notes/requests, I ordered my food Thai hot. What did i get? Literally no spice at all, thats why most of us eat Thai food. I called the restaurant right after it was delivered and told them what my findings were. They blamed it on the delivery agency. You know, at this point Im not sure what to do. I love Thai food and there are 2 options in Alamo. I will say what they did send was plentiful and fresh but literally no spice. I have eaten Thai food in many places globally and consider myself to be an aficionado in the Thai food arena. I paid 30% more than the cost of eating at the restaurant and kinda expected to get it the way I ordered it. The person at the restaurant offered me nothing and the we deliver alamo was brain dead on the call and said I didnt put any notes in, I DID !
So two strikes, the delivery service could have accepted the responsibility or simply did what he did and said, Gee I dont know what happened. There is literally no accountability in this world anymore and im sick of it. I cook amazing Thai food and I suppose in the future I will plan ahead and have ingredients on hand. If you want something done right , DO IT YOURSELF. Im really bummed as I just came back to Alamo and had hoped to find that special spot. Based on reaction both from delivery service and restaurant Im screwed. I am a blogger and have almost 30000 readers on Trip Advisor and my only recourse is to write reviews. Sad state of affairs when its blamed on us the consumer rather than taking responsibility for omissions and errors in the very business that they...
Read more5/30/19 Update, the menu has consolidated, the wait staff are attentive, and the food is vastly improved. The sushi is fresh with good taste, just the appearance could be better in presentation. Our most regular location outside of Bamboo Garden to go out to eat. Everything has improved compared to what I wrote before. Thanks for making all the improvements!
To begin with, there was no one there to great greeten we arrived. One of the workers was on her phone sitting around the corner. We were then seated in a corner booth where the table was about a foot away from the seats. We ordered our food, and the sushi was presented first. They were poorly shaped, uneven in size, and had no taste added to the rice. Everything was room temperature as well, and that is not appropriate for sushi. Soon after our plates arrived and the vegetables were completely overdone, the meat was pre-cut and then cooked, which is inappropriate. The fried rice was greasy and had minimal other ingredients. I said to my son that if his grandfather was here he would have walked out because the food was so bad. Our server never came back to ask how the food was, never came back for refills, and never came back to present us with the bill. I had to get up and go look for someone to get the bill paid for. The only person that was out in the front was the sushi chef. Very disappointed, and will not be back. The food is not authentic at all. I'd hoped that coming back several years later it, would have improved. Unfortunately it h,ad not. Horrible. If people like the food, they don't know what...
Read moreSo glad we decided to stop here! My family and I decided to come down the mountain and try one of the few Asian restaurants there is in Alamogordo, we were NOT DISAPPOINTED!
My husband ordered the Drunken Noodles and the Sushi Sampler (they have two size options). The noodles were jam packed with flavor and both him and my daughters thoroughly enjoyed the Sushi, my daughter mentioned the sushi wasn’t fishy at all, she said it tasted very fresh and was pleasant to the palate. The yellow Curry and Chicken Thai Fried Rice also came in generous portions and were delicious and satisfying. The star of the show for me was the Hot Pot soup we ordered. It was $14, and was enough for three people. It comes in either shrimp or chicken and they have two broth options. We opted for the coconut milk one with cilantro and WOW WAS IT DELICIOUS!! Honestly, I will be going back for that Hot Pot alone.
They have a variety of drink options, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The Thai Tea my daughter had was super refreshing and creamy. My husband and I had the Fuji Apple Sake and Pear and they were so smooth and sweet, the Sake was delicious.
The service was great, our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable with her recommendations for food. The prices were $10 and up but that seems to be the norm nowadays.
If you’re in the mood for some Thai/Japanese food give this place a try. Step out of your comfort bubble and try out some new things from the menu, you might just surprise your taste buds! This place is a...
