Ordered via app for drive thru, was told it wasn't ready and to come in to pick it up. Understandable, but an inconvenience.
Was then locked OUT of the restaurant along with 2 other customers in similar situations.
Had to wait for a customer to come out of the restaurant to be let in to get food. Then watched as one of the store 'GM' or similar title argued with one of the locked out customers over canceling their order due to, you know...being locked out and forced to wait 5+ minutes to be let in. It was ridiculous. The 'GM' claimed to be under staffed and in a big rush (I counted at least 6 employees besides herself and a 2nd manager working. There were 2 people eating in and at most 2 cars in drive thru. So no, that wasnt a legitimate excuse). After the customer left, after being told "I dont know how to cancel an order. You'd have to do that." the 'GM' then got into an argument with her coworkers because one if them said "Wait...you locked the doors??" and yes...
... She locked the customers and employees IN the restaurant as well. You heard that right doors were locked going in and coming out. That's called a fire hazard folks.
So then I've been wait 15 minutes at minimum for my order since the drive thru. I'm told they didn't have thighs for my order. I say legs are fine. I say, can I just get 2 legs instead (not interested in wings, especially if they're already changing my order). And I kid you not, another employee grabs a set of tongs and snaps up the last leg out from under the employee who was helping me, 'I needed it for my order!'. The employee helping me, slowly turns around with the best customer service smile she could muster ready to tell me "that's not possible" lol I just tell her "whatever you have on hand is fine."
So yeah. Popeyes management is a HOT MOLTEN MESS. It always has been, and even after the big shake ups of the last year or two will continue to be horrendously hot garbage mess. It's sad because the foods always good, if it can be made or when it's available.
Don't go there unless you allot yourself an hour of potential drama time to get some chicken. And be careful that you aren't locked INTO the restaurant. I'm not dying for these biscuits, no matter how...
Read moreI love Popeyes in the lower 48, but the Popeyes in Anchorage, AK has the worst customer service and food quality.
I ordered spicy chicken tenders with ranch, and a spicy chicken sandwich combo. I asked for mashed potatoes w/ gravy and asked for extra gravy. I also asked for the spicy mayo and pickles on the side(I'm driving home and don't want a soggy chicken sandwich).
First, they don't have ranch. No big deal, I'll take the blackened ranch.
Next, I'm told I can't have extra gravy. They removed the extra gravy button. Ummm...who cares? Just figure out a way to give your customers extra gravy. Why argue with a paying customer? If I'm paying for extra gravy just figure it out.
So after the gravy fiasco I repeat twice more that I don't want sauce or pickles on my sandwich, I want them on the side.
I then pay for my food, and of course I check it before I pull off and I notice the gravy on the mashed potatoes looks different. I look more closely and it's absolutely NOT the gravy that Popeyes sells. I ask if they changed the recipe and was told no, but they ran out of gravy and their manager went to the store and bought regular gravy. What!? They're selling completely different gravy than what's on the menu. The gravy looked disgusting like KFC gravy. So, I hand it back to them and they give me mac and cheese instead.
As they are getting the mac and cheese I check my sandwich and of course there are pickles and a ridiculous amount of sauce on it. I hand them back the sandwich, but he doesn't want to take it because they put sauce and pickles on the side in the bag. Ok, great. But, I still don't want sauce or pickles ON my sandwich.
I look in the bag and of course there's no blackened ranch. I ask for the sauce and I'm told that I needed to ask for it when I ordered. I DID!!
I get the blackened ranch, go home, and finally look at the mac and cheese to find an old, dried out blob of something orange.
They are getting one star because the tenders were actually delicious and fresh. The chicken on the sandwich was...
Read moreI placed an online order and the receipt said to pickup through the drive thru. A sign in the drive thru said not to use the drive thru for online pickups and to go inside. This handwritten sign is on the menu, so you have to drive through and park. The exit parking is to the back of the store. The door is sometimes locked. The front entrance is locked due to construction. Sometimes the door is unlocked again. Inside (in the photo) is as seen with a note stating to call a phone number when you've arrived to pickup an order and to not enter. When you call the number, no matter how many times across any span of time, it will give you a busy signal. When the food is ready someone will come out of the door and ask for your name to bring your order out. The entire transaction seemed a little long considering there were only three of of waiting inside and only one car behind us when I went inside, but I can chalk that up to short staffing and I won't fault them that much. Nonetheless, from the time of ordering to the time I had my food in my hand, about 40 minutes. I admittedly had a large order and may have caught them at a bad time l, but it wasn't outrageous. This has not been my typical experience, but it was not an excellent one. Again, they are likely short staffed and are clearly under construction. It's a bad situation. But slow service is slow service and that's not the...
