Walking my dog here on a sunny day is a pleasure. We met a team cleaning up the grounds and a Mom with 3 children who loved playing with my dog. They moved here a year ago fron NC and her husband is a geologist. We had a long conversation. Today and yesterday we walked the top walking trail and discovered the cattails that can be accessed if you wear some boots. There are plenty on the SE corner near the wood fence that Lowe's put up to keep homeless people off their property. That area was previously used to serve them food. But the city cleaned out a large lot owned by Lowes so I did not see any homeless people today. This park covers a large area. In the summer there are events held on site. They have a large cement seating area for this too. Lots of lawn area for playing and walking. Children love the play equipment and seeing the ducks and geese. The areas that were fenced off have new grasses around the pond. It looks fantastic. There is a large oval area that can be used for skating in the winter. Plenty of parking is available on all 4 sides. Since this park is next to Loussac Library, a Mom can take her children to 2 places in one visit.

I love this park. I lived near by and since I watched kids we came almost everyday. As much fun as the playground is I enjoy letting the kids run in the field, watch the birds and climb the trees. Either way it is a great place to spend the whole day even. An awesome bonus is taking the kids to the playground and the Anchorage school district offering free lunches in the summer.

Fairly nice playground with decent equipment, not a lot, more than some, the equipment is several years Alf and is still nice. I’ve seen this place loaded with kids on sunny days, so be warned. Several different parking lots so don’t give up if one of them is full. There is a homeless camp nearby, so take that into consideration.

Love this park but wish there were swings for the kids. The ground is very soft to prevent injuries and the park is very well kept. It seems to popular for families of all ages and tends to get a bit busier than other parks in the area. There is a pond that we love walking around but beware that there is an odd place where the paved concrete meets the water without any sort of railing. It is visible from the playground and I have seen several kids try to get in the water there. Not much of a concern if you are a diligent parent keeping a close eye on your kids. Overall, this is one of our favorite parks...
