505 Central Food Hall is a great place to find a variety of food options in Albuquerque. The food hall is located in the heart of downtown Albuquerque and features nine different vendors, each with their own unique cuisine. Some of the vendors at 505 Central Food Hall include: The Flying Star Cafe: This popular local chain serves up American comfort food, such as burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Barrio Bread: This bakery specializes in sourdough bread, as well as other baked goods, such as pastries and pizzas. The Halal Guys: This New York-based chain is known for its halal chicken and rice dishes. Katsu Ramen: This Japanese restaurant serves up delicious ramen bowls, as well as other Japanese dishes, such as gyoza and karaage. The Growler Guys: This craft beer bar offers a wide selection of local and national beers on tap, as well as growler fills. In addition to the food vendors, 505 Central Food Hall also has a bar, called Moonwalk Bar, which serves up a variety of cocktails, beer, and wine. The food hall also has a large outdoor patio, which is a great place to enjoy a meal on a warm day. 505 Central Food Hall is a great place to go for a casual meal with friends or family. The food hall has something for everyone, and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. I highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for a great place to eat in Albuquerque. Decided to check out this spot and see what they had to offer. 1st off they are taking COVID19 precautions, as soon as you step in the building they have you sign in and take your temperature. They also provide you a list of all the restaurants that are in the food hall along with a QR code you can scan to bring them up online if you want to place your order online. One thing to mention you will have to create an account on a site called SelfLane and they will send you an email confirmation code however I tried to register when I was sitting at a table and I never received the email code, a day later, still no code. I think this is an extra step they should do away with. We ended up just choosing a restaurant and placing our order at the counter. The restaurant we chose this round was Pier None. We ordered the Lemon Garlic Calamari, Tropical shrimp ceviche and a side of the Tajin Lemon fries. I really enjoyed their food and I can say we will be back. The staff was very informative and friendly. The Tajin Lemon fries were a great recommendation, I would say that the lemon flavor is very prominent that it hits you in the back of the throat everytime and so good. One observation is that because there is one bar in the establishment a line tends to form and interrupts the flow of the food hall and at that point does not allow for proper social distancing because the line has people standing in between tables. Perhaps if they open a second level this should be moved. All in all it was a nice place and I would suggest checking it out. If you have read this post, please hit the like button. Thank you.

Looks great! Underwhelmed experience. Excited about it being "Certified Covid Safe", but it really wasn't behaving with CSPs. Employees on break were maskless while eating indoors--one of them I think was owner Mark...who when not eating had his mask down below his nose while walking around and talking to other employees there. They were doing temperature checks at the door and contact tracing, but folks were coming in from the "exit only doors" and skipping the temp checks and tracing altogether. Now on to the food. I ordered from the burger joint there "Meateor Burgers" and ordered their Zia Burger and fries ($16 and change after tip for a to-go burger). The burger patty itself looked like a pre-formed frozen patty w/ fillers, nothing special... It didn't standout, wasn't juicy, and was a pretty uniform grey burger--typical of frozen patties. Atop the burger was a slice of cheddar cheese and their burger sauce. Not on the burger were the toppings that make it a Zia Burger (notably fritos and red chile sauce, but also the lettuce, tomato, onions, etc). So, you basically build your own burger with the ingredients they give you in separate packages. I thought the burger was alright, but if you're a burger guy/gal, there will be nothing memorable from the meat itself--and the red chile sauce is mild--so don't expect any heat from this burger. Fries were thick cut and pretty good. I dipped mine in some of the red chile sauce. All said, I probably won't return to the Food Hall until after the pandemic is over to stay safe, and I'll definitely try one of the other vendors.

I went to 505 Central for the first time during the March ABQ Art Walk and I was so excited!

I ordered from Moonwalk, Tino’s Tacos, and Pier None and sadly I was impressed by any of those places.

From Pier None, we ordered the Cajun Crawfish Toast and the Tropical Shrimp Ceviche and they were alright. The ceviche had very little shrimp which was disappointing. The Cajun seasoning on the toast was good, but the crawfish tasted very fishy which isn't a flavor I'm used to when eating crawfish.

From Tino’s Tacos I ordered a carne asada quesadilla and it was just an average quesadilla. Nothing out of this world. But what I was disappointed in was the wait for my food. When it was ready, the cook had given the other worker the wrong order number so after she walked around the food hall calling out the wrong number for several minutes, it just sat out until I asked about it because I had been waiting for about 20 minutes after they said it would be a 7 minute wait. The quesadilla is packed with a bunch of stuff, but after it sat out it got cold and soggy on the bottom. Nothing worse than a soggy tortilla.

From Moonwalk we had a spicy jalapeño margarita and another mixed drink the bartender recommended but they tasted watered down. The spicy jalapeño margarita had very little flavor and the pink drink had a light subtle flavor. Some other friends had other types of margaritas (can't remember which types) but they all had similar comments. I will say that the bartenders were super friendly and funny which was really nice!

I will definitely go back and try the tacos from Tino’s and a different drink from Moonwalk. Maybe my first time to 505 Central was just a one-off experience. Next time I’ll try Meateor Burgers! Someone in my group had a burger from there and they liked it.

I really loved the location and overall feel of the food hall. The setup is nice and I loved being out on the patio in...
