Rumor Pizza — Restaurant in Albuquerque

I'm from Grants and can only come to Albuquerque on the weekends. My first stop is usually Zendo for an espresso, then off to food. Today I wanted a pizza, and Rumor was nearby. I see it pop up in this group all the time. It's a cute little corner house in a residential neighborhood. Park on the street. There is no dining inside, only a counter. They only sell slices and 18 inch pizza. I suggest a pizza, take the leftovers home for pizza omelettes tomorrow. I asked them to make me a margarita style, it turns out to be a "cheese pizza" with fresh basil. Good enough. The crust was thin, hand stretched. The crust has char both on the top and the bottom. The owner told me they have a rotating selection of toppings in addition the usual (think leeks). It's fun, local, and unique....

I came here for dinner one night not sure what to expect. I soon realized it’s order to go and it’s winter so definitely too cold to sit outside. The staff was friendly and let me ask them questions while I waited for my pizza to be made. Also Rumor Pizza has no affiliation with Rumor Brewing Company. One of the questions I asked them when I was looking up pizza places to try. They only have 18” pies and slices to order. I ordered the pepperoni pizza. So all my pizza reviews are consistent. The pie was perfectly cooked, no flop and a nice crunch. As I waited I watched cook grate fresh parmesan on to the pies being made. It’s also really good when you heat it up the next day in an air frier.

Rumor pizza has quickly become one of my go to pizza establishments. The staff is amazing, always friendly and welcoming. The pizza….. AMAZING!!!! Nice thin crispy crust, perfectly cooked, high quality ingredients, you know the pepperoni is good when it cups and the cheese stretches when you pull it away. I love that they add basil to it, gives it a pleasant aromatic freshness that you don’t get anywhere else. They only have a few selections of soda but it’s high quality, small batch soda. The tiramisu is delicious also. Would definitely recommend trying them if you haven’t. They only have outdoor seating and if you go to late Friday or Saturday you may not get slices if that’s what you’re wanting!!! Go give them a try...
