Took the day off for my bday and decided I'd try something new, and this place is obviously highly rated. Absolutely made my morning. I thought maybe things would be sold out by the time I got there at about 9, but no, thankfully. I got a Boston cream cruffin, rhubarb danish, pecan sticky bun and another danish that I forgot the name of, but had an exotic yellow fruit filling with poppy seeds crumble. I love fruit baked goods, and these were so much better than I could have anticipated. The perfect balance of flavors among all of the pastries i got. Also ordered a vanilla latte, which was, again, so good. They really know what they're doing here. Don't be detoured by no seating, or the line. It moves pretty quickly, and I only waited about 8 minutes for my order to come out. The staff were so so sweet. As someone with anxiety, i felt pretty comfortable throughout the whole process. They have 3 stools on the pick up side of the building to sit while you wait. I spent about 36 bucks, because i got the 4 goodies and coffee. Perfect little place to go for a nice coffee and treat!! You won't...
Read moreSpecial artisan (not the Artisan wording you see on commercial loaves of bread at wally world) bakery with outstanding crafted loaves of scrumptious long fermented sourdough (you can really taste it!). Pastries there are unique but very nice and quite a comfort food. If you love GREAT bread that takes a real world amount of time to craft then you will be willing to pay a bit heftier a price tag for a loaf of bread that should be eaten straight away and not left behind for days later (forever, the days later version of this bread is still hella good!). The textures of the fresh crispy crust vs the chewy interior is amazing. It's a short shelf life bread that's actually better for you than regular bread. Coffee there is fantastic and again pastries, cruffins, etc are delightful! I could eat that bread all the time! No such thing as law of diminishing returns. It's why people back in the day would get their daily breads from actual bakers. This place gives you that feel of that old school way of eating good things that aren't...
Read moreThe Cruffin is what drew me in, but the whole bakery will keep me coming back! I came up on this humblly housed bakery right around 8am on a Saturday morning. Right away I noticed not only the line wrapping around the corner of the ordering window, but the aroma in the air was mystifying and nostalgic. The line moved quickly and a window that prefaces the order window gives customers a glimpse into the whole operation. At the ordering window I was overwhelmed by the selection of baked goodies on display, but overwhelmed in the best way. I opted for the praised Cruffins and I was swiftly tempted into another treat that the cashier had talked a couple that was ahead of me into. Everything was packed cautiously and securely in a cute brown parcel that travelled amazingly. Their Passion Fruit Cruffin was the star of the order today. The chocolate glaze was equally sweet and tart, and the crusty pastry housed some scrumptious passion fruit pudding. I will definitely be returning to this amazing Burque staple, and look forward to tasting...
