Farina in EDo isn’t just a pizzeria – it’s a gem of the Albuquerque food scene. With its warm atmosphere, incredible service, and mouthwatering dishes, Farina consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience.
Named one of the seventeen best pizzerias in America by TimeOut in 2017, Farina truly lives up to the hype. What sets this place apart is not just its owner, Stew, but the incredible talent and dedication of the entire team – from the chef to the kitchen staff, baker, and wait staff. Each of them plays a vital role in creating an atmosphere that feels like home, where the service is as memorable as the food.
Farina is one of the few restaurants in Albuquerque that truly understands the concept of seasonal ingredients. Whenever possible, they feature seasonal and locally grown items in their special salads and pizzas. This means they value relationships with local growers and go to great lengths to include those items in their dishes. For anyone who cares about that sort of thing, it’s a very Italian concept – in Italy, people follow the "100 kilometers" rule, ensuring their food hasn’t traveled further than that. Even though Farina doesn’t claim to be an "Italian" restaurant, their focus on seasonal and local ingredients is the closest you can get.
The menu is full of creative surprises, with new specials daily. My wife and I always go for the special salad and pizza of the day, and we’ve never been disappointed. Even the combinations that sound out of the ordinary are delicious.

Read moreAs a small business owner, I’m always looking for new places to take guests and colleagues. One of my clients is the sous chef at a fine restaurant up the road in Nob Hill and recommended this place (granted, the Montgomery location). Went after a family function downtown, and was greeted as cold as the weather outside. It was explained that I could not be seated until my entire party arrived. Which can be understandable on a busy Friday night, if said with warmth and care. It seemed as if I was a bother or a homeless gal who came in off the street. Wasn’t even offered a seat at the bar in the meantime. Luckily, my party was close behind.
I think the manager realized his tone and attempted to change it and make it a better experience.
I was already over it, and we were also really hungry. The food came out very slowly, slow enough that the table was offered a discount and desserts. The server was mildly attentive. I think this would have sufficed if the second pizza was not terribly burnt on the bottom. I felt as if I was eating char. By that point, was certainly not going to bother to send it back. The restaurant cleared out quickly indicating that it was not THAT busy for a Friday at 9PM. I think the late gestures were kind and appreciated, and unfortunately the tone was set when I walked in.
First impressions are crucial in a town where many restaurants don’t make it. With the variety of fire oven pizza available in town, I won’t go out of my way to patron this place with the unfriendly vibe that was established.
“Regulars” were greeted warmly and some left with hugs. It was an over-all average experience and,...
Read moreLet me tell you, if you're looking for an experience that takes you straight to Italy, Farina Pizzeria is the place to be. It was a busy night, and the place was buzzing, but Michelle—oh, Michelle—she was on another level. The kind of service that makes you feel like you’re the only table in the house, even when it’s packed. I wasn’t expecting this level of attentiveness, especially in today’s rush-rush world, but she was absolutely phenomenal. She didn’t just serve us; she made us feel like guests at her own dinner table.
And the food? Let’s just say it’s like taking a trip back to Italy with every bite. The Margherita pizza? Perfection. The crust had that perfect char, the mozzarella was melt-in-your-mouth creamy, and the tomatoes were fresh and bright. It was everything a pizza should be. Then came the meatball spaghetti, and wow. Those meatballs were like little clouds of flavor—juicy, savory, and packed with all the right spices. It was the kind of pasta that makes you want to shout “Mamma Mia!” It truly felt like we were sitting in a cozy trattoria somewhere in Rome.
But the best part? The tiramisu. After years of searching, I finally had a dessert that brought back memories of Italy. Creamy, rich, and with just the right amount of coffee-soaked layers—it was the perfect way to end a perfect meal.
If you're a foodie looking for an authentic taste of Italy and service that makes you feel like royalty, Farina Pizzeria is a must. You won’t be...
