We have a pretty large group of people coming in late September and were scouting places to take them while in Abq. I saw the sign for this establishment and decided to check it out today. I met my friend here at about 7pm. Upon entering I saw my friend waving me over to the table she was at. All of a sudden I could hear some shouting “ And where are you going?” I turned around to see a short stocky lady following me. I said “Me?” She says yes. I then realized she was the host. Im like, going to my table. She responds rudely, “well enjoy then”. I was so confused. My friend asks me what that was all about. I’m like, I have no idea. Apparently she got upset because I didn’t check in with her. That was my guess. She was very rude about it. I then noticed it wasn’t only me. She did the same to another gentleman who was meeting up with someone too. That was my introduction to this establishment. We were greeted by our server pretty fast but weren’t ready to order so she said she would be right back. We never saw her again. Finally, another server came over and asked if we had been helped. We told him our other server disappeared. He apologized and took our order. He was fantastic. Such a great personality and kept checking on us. As the night progressed, I started noticing lots of security guards walking around with side arms. No crime was going on because they were just chatting and laughing with one another. But they kept walking around where people were eating which was very uncomfortable. This seemed very unusual. I don’t remember ever being in a restaurant with so much security all yielding guns. It was now about 10pm and we decided we had experienced enough. We still thought it might be a good place to try again. That was until we got to the exit door. The host lady walks up again and says sternly, “If you are leaving you need to walk outside by the bar and exit from outside. Bye goodnight”. We were so taken a back. By doing that, we now couldn’t find the elevator to get back down to the first level where our cars were parked since we were outside and the elevators were inside where she blocked out exit. We had to now had to walk all the way down the parking garage. This lady ruined the whole experience for us. Needless to say we won’t be taking our group there. So sad, because I really wanted to like this place. There are plenty of other establishments which know to treat customers with dignity and respect. We’ll make sure to give them...

The food here is horrifically over priced and the customer service is subpar. We just had an event here last night with 20-30 attendees. At first, I was excited and impressed with the vibe of the venue.

When I looked at the prices I assumed there was going to be huge servings. A small side dish of french fries was $4.00!

Their chips and dip appetizer is $10 for bland tasting guacamole (absolutely no spices, just avocado and tomato), gross salsa, and one cup of cheese (which was rather good but that's a 33% success rate). The worst part, is this $10 chips and dip meal, which would be free with the purchase of appetizers and entrees at other locations, barely fed two people. We purchased $80 worth of chips and dip thinking this would cover everyone, and there wasn't nearly enough.

The alcohol drinks tasted watered down, and when I ordered a drink from the bar it tasted nothing like the recipe I showed the bartender - this is my usual drink when going out and I have yet to have a bartender mess it up.

Then, while my husband and I were determining who was DD for our carpool party, the waitress offered us a few moments to discuss this. She walked to the end of the table, did not speak to any one to take orders, etc. and walked right back and asked which one of us was drinking. We both looked at her with confusion because we barely had time to open our mouth before she came back.

A male who appeared to be the owner, was hovering over our party the entire night. As if he did not believe we were going to pay. The same waitress tried to grab my receipt before I even signed it confirming my tip! Myself and two others split the cost of the overpriced chips and dip, and the same waitress and manager hovered, waiting right next to us while we were signing. Every other restaurant we are given our checks, and told to take our time. This place I felt distrusted and rushed.

Almost every month we have a birthday event of this size. Usually we go to Bravo, Olive Garden, or Red Lobster, but we wanted to try a local venue. I am NEVER going to come here again. I walked out of here with almost $100 bill for one order of burger tacos, two drinks, coffee, a side of fries, and $25 worth of...

I come to canvas all the time with my work parties and vip section. Last-night I went with just my sister and boyfriend. Some guys got really disrespectful with my boyfriend and snatched his Gucci hat off his head and broke it. Security escorted us out so quick, they took us out one door and the other 4 dudes through another door that literally meets up at the same place. Which is stupid it defeats the purpose of keeping everyone separate. My boyfriend almost got jumped by them so my sister and I were trying to break it up and not letting people jump him. But yet I had 3 security guards literally chocking me and holding me down and mind you I’m 115 pounds I’m very small. I am beyond upset on how we were treated and man handled by security when we were the ones trying to break it up and do there jobs😂 I’m sorry but there’s no way I’m going to stand there and watch my boyfriend which is also tiny 130 pounds get jumped by 4 guys. The bouncers knowing the problem and saw everything happen but yet mistreat us I wouldn’t recommend going there honestly or if you do be safe cuz people are crazy and...

Continuing my work journey through New Mexico, we ended up at Canvas Artistry on Halloween for dinner. We were hoping for something low-key, but that wasn’t the case — it turned out to be a full-on costume party, haha. Despite the lively festivities, we decided to stick around, grab dinner, and join the fun. The space is huge, located on a rooftop with plenty of room for dining, dancing, and even hanging out on the balcony. At least at night, it definitely has dive bar and club vibes. I kept my meal simple with a burger and fries, and I was pleasantly surprised—it was really good! The drinks were also creative and definitely hit the spot. The only downside was the service. With the crowd and the party happening, things were a bit slow, and a few requests were either delayed or forgotten altogether. Overall, Canvas Artistry is a solid spot if you’re looking for a good burger, great drinks, and a lively atmosphere.

Update: They had a great 420 experience!! Several dispensaries and prizes, great burger and the DJ was great!! _ Free parking in the garage with validation from Canvas!! I heard about this new place on the radio and the $6 green chile cheeseburger & fries special so I decided to go grab me a $6 special "To go". I like my burgers med. well and the cook made it perfect! The chile is spicy (3 out of 5) and had no skins, the waffle fries are perfectly crisp!! I sat there and ate 1/2 my "to go" meal cuz it smelled soo good! It is delicious! The area is very open and large, great for happy hour groups or off site meetings. The staff was friendly. They have several Daily food and drink specials, and dj's!! Parking was tricky, the lot was closed so I parked on central, easy peasy. Come check this place out with your friends$$

This place has so much potential. Atmosphere is amazing and i love the balcony that wraps around the dance floor/bar area. However, every time we go i swear the Djs think they’re playing music for a high school graduation party or prom lol extremely reused playlist and can be very boring. Please add more music to the playlist other than The Black Eyed Peas, Lil John remixes and Flo-rida songs lol If they played a more diverse music playlist this place would be so much more fun and less boring. Also, the security guards at the front need an attitude check, they are so rude and mean to people unnecessarily. I understand they have to keep their guard up when dealing with the clowns of Albuquerque all night long, but at least be nice to the people that aren’t giving them a hard time and come in peace lol
