Updated review for our Memorial Day 2024 experience: I called in a pick-up order when ordering online wasn't working, at 1811. The lady that answered the phone and took my order was pleasant and efficient, and gave us a nearly exact ready time!
My significant other and I walked to the restaurant from the nearby hotel (such a quick trip!) to pick up our order. We were a little early, so of course we didn't expect our order of three Holy Cow burgers (no pink), both regular and sweet potato fries, and two drinks, to be ready upon our arrival. Despite being busy, we were helped fairly quickly when we came up to the counter; the gentleman was wonderful from the first contact up until we walked out with our order!
Unfortunately, we witnessed a couple, whom were dining in, give the gentleman issues about their order taking too long (and from the looks of it, the previous reviewer, Susan, was most likely the female half of the couple). I guess they were expecting fast food and poor quality, since it wasn't made as quickly as they wanted? They were very snotty and condescending to the gentleman, both at the counter and their table; it was difficult not to tell them to treat people better and have patience for excellent food! After the male half of the couple had gone up to the counter to hassle the gentleman, their burgers came out - literally a minute more of waiting was all it took. The female said snottily, "We also have fries!" But the server only had two hands, so clearly she couldn't bring it all at once. So impatient and entitled! The gentleman wasn't at all rude to the couple; he spoke very matter-of-factly and politely to them, just as he did to me.
After our amazing service experience, we walked back to our hotel room with our food and drinks. Pictures weren't taken, as all of us couldn't wait to devour the delicious and well-made burgers and fries! You'll never see a burger look JUST LIKE the photo, anywhere else. Truly, they are a work of art for the eyes and taste buds! We enjoyed everything (including my son, whom had not experienced the amazing Holy Cow Burger until last night), and our bellies were more than satisfied after our meals. The fries are also just as good leftover!
This will always be our go-to dinner spot every time we go on a ghost hunting adventure, and I cannot recommend this awesome restaurant enough! There is absolutely zero to complain about here - see for yourself!
Original review: We stopped here for dinner before 6PM on 9 Sept 2023. We sat at the half booth against the wall closest to the counter, and it gave us a good view of the entire restaurant. The tables were spaced out well and the overall appearance of the inside and out, was lovely.
Our server brought us menus very quickly once we sat down, and that incredible service didn't stop! I wish I knew his name, but he was on top of everything from start to finish, and was just an awesome human overall. Kudos!
The menu has many appealing options, but we both chose the Holy Cow Burger, medium rare. I had the hand-cut fries, and my significant other had the beer-battered onion rings. The serving of fries was HUGE; I had to get a to-go box so I could finish them later, 'cause they were too delicious to let go to waste. He enjoyed the onion rings and what he had of the fries, as well. Our burgers were cooked to order, and phenomenal!
I already know what I want to try when we go back... and we definitely plan to go back ASAP! Don't pass up the chance to eat here, whether you're a local or just passing through. I can't recommend Holy Cow Burger more!
P.S.: Burgers and sides are ordered separately,...
Read moreDon’t usually review places even if I am disappointed, but after reading similar experiences I thought I’d try to save someone else from a bad experience that could be avoided. I’ve eaten here multiple times but it’s been a while since the last time. Today I went spontaneously with a friend and was very disappointed and grossed out by the place. The waitress was sweet, no complaints there but the wait staff looked miserable… never a good sign for a good work environment. The place looked pretty dirty. The cook looked greasy, with a long uncovered beard. Usually I don’t mind cooks not wearing gloves because obviously if they wash their hands gloves don’t matter that much. But this guy looked kind of unclean to me, like it’s questionable if he regularly washes his hands, and he was handling the food with bare hands. So I felt kind of grossed out and a bit uneasy about eating the food. The place made me feel depressed. The staff looked depressed. And the food was not good like it usually is. The fries tasted a day old and had no salt in them, they were cold and inedible. We had thought about going to Freddy’s prior to coming here but I thought maybe it would be a step up… I was very wrong and very disappointed in the amount I...
Read moreMy husband and I got to the restaurant at 5:00 before a Lobo game. When we arrived, we sat at a dirty table, looked around and there were several tables not wiped. The staff was standing around together looking at their phones. We were the only ones there at this point, finally the waiter came and wiped our table, and gave us a menu. They all seemed irritated that they had customers! I asked for no cheese and to add jalapeños, it had cheese and no jalapeños. The owner, Chris brought my plate back without a word, again irritated by us being there! The burger still had cheese! The behavior of the owner was rude and dismissive, so I decided not to say anything, instead to just keep the order. My husbands burger was undercooked, but again just ate it that way. It got pretty busy, so nobody came to ask us for refills or condiments, so I went up to the counter to ask the owner, and he again was dismissive and rude! I asked why he was being so rude, and he said, “I haven’t said a word to you two” I said, “exactly!” We are huge foodies, go to restaurants before every home game, we will NEVER go back! At some point, customer service and basic manners should be expected, mostly for a $60 tab for...
