Every visitor to Albuquerque, New Mexico, MUST EAT AT THE RANGE CAFE! This restaurant embodies the Spirit of New Mexican cuisine. The blending of the 2 cultures of the Native American and the Mexican people is the dynamic catalyst that results in THE MOST AMAZING UNIQUE FLAVOR COMBINATIONS! KNOWN AS NEW MEXICAN CUSINE, the menu at the RANGE CAFE provides the opportunity to experience many delicious examples of the BLENDING of REGIONAL INGREDIENTS, SPICES, PREPARATION, PRESENTATION and LOVE!! THIS IS THE MAGIC OF NEW MEXICAN CUISINE, consistently found at any of the many ALBUQUERQUE LOCATIONS OF THE RANGE CAFE. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, COME HUNGRY! Reasonable priced local deliciousness of filling portions served table side by attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable wait staff. Even the decor SCREAMS THE UNIQUENESS OF NEW MEXICO AND ITS INHABITANTS! THE RANGE CAFE IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF... THE LAND of ENCHANTMENT!

The host attempted to wipe down a table for me, only to leave some leftover water all over the table from a rag that was barely squeezed. She then grabbed a menu and attempted to fan the table, instead of just getting a dry towel. When I sat, the table was still wet and the menu stuck to the table. About 5 mins later I place an order with the waitress for an appetizer, beverage and entree. 10 mins later I get my appetizer and have to ask for something to drink. Mind you it’s not busy at all, with maybe 3 parties (including just myself). Then I get my food, which was enchiladas. It was the second most priced item on the menu, but the dish itself looked like leftovers. After a few bites I called it quits. Go to Applebees, Chili’s or even Dennys over this place.

Went to the Range on Rio Grande today for the Taco Tuesdays. Disappointed all the way around. 1. Service: Was seated at the booths opposite the bar. The lady who was our server was also tending bar. She spent more time taking care of the bar customers than she did the table customers, even though it appeared there was another gentleman working the bar also. 2. Food: Took my wife because she really likes shredded beef tacos. Instead of shredded beef tacos we were served "Chunks of Beef Tacos. I don't know if this was laziness on the cooks part or what but they were definitely not shredded beef. Attached are 2 pictures. One picture is what a shredded beef taco shoild look like and the other is of the Range's.

Went to this Cafe for the first time in Alburquerque, went with a party of 9 people. Had to make reservations even tho the Cafe was not busy, the food was Cafe food was dissapointing. Our waiter KEITH was phenomenal due to the circumstances he went up and beyond to fix mistakes made by the kitchen and made sure our party was taken care of, the server was overwhelmed due to other staff members that were just standing around. A few mistakes were made and I'm sure it's because he was so overwhelmed. Keith had phenomenal customer service even tho he was the only server taken care of 3/4 of the Cafe by himself, was very polite. There was a guy standing behind the pie counter wearing a kanga that would just stand and stare at us not even assist his server with a large party, made us feel completely uncomfortable. If the Kanga guy was so interested in what was going on with our party he should have assisted his staff rather than staring and giving creepy grins to our party from a far. I would not recommend this cafe unless you want meh food. KEITH was great, kanga guy needs to get a hobby. Water was fresh, queso was awesome, chips were very chippy, guacamole was good, do not order the artichoke dip it had no flavor, no cheese. There was no kid menu offered to our 9 yr old. Very very disappointing for our large party, and rhe amt of $ we spent. Keith you rock, thank you for trying and doing your best in the situation u were placed with...

I'm surprised there are good reviews for this restaurant. We were in town for an event, staying at a local hotel. The clerk at the front desk recommended The Range as the place where local's eat. We try to avoid chain restaurants as much as possible, and so took the recommendation to heart. We arrived around 7:30pm. First, when we entered it wasn't clear whether it was seat yourself, or wait to be seated. The hostess podium is on the other side of the restaurant from the door we entered. I could maybe give that a pass, but... The hostess asked us how many in our party. I told her 2, and asked for a booth (which I'm not sure she heard). She took us to a regular table in the middle of the dining floor. I again asked, if she wouldn't mind putting us in a booth. She was really bothered by the question, and said "We don't really have any available" even though, from where I was standing, I could see at least 6 with clean silverware rolls on them, in areas where people were actively seated and eating. I again asked, if we could please have a booth, and the hostess said "If you could just sit here this time that would be great", and then she turned and left. The menu was pretty limited and the prices didn't seem on par with the selection or portions. We left without ordering and will...

The range has been one of our favorite places to go. Sadly, over the last few years, ordering stuff from them has been a gamble. In two of our last 3 orders, meals were missing. People's whole meals were missing but we were charged for it. Calling them only resulted in excuses on how it was the driver's fault, a third party they have no control over. Short staffed, something something. The manager offered to make it but we would still have to go pick it up... He even offered to take a drink and a side of fries off (after much begging!) Woah! Terrible customer service. The only reason it's not 1 star is the food is decent (not as great as previous years). Same yourself a headache and go elsewhere.

Update 2/12/23 - I guess I'm a gambling man. Gambled again, lost again. Order a few items, this time all the meals were there but were missing ingredients. The green chile cheese burger with no green chile, the artichoke quesadilla only came with salsa, guacamole and lettuce. What happened to the artichoke and the rest of the stuff? If you are going there, I would recommend dine in at least that way they can...
