Went to this Cafe for the first time in Alburquerque, went with a party of 9 people. Had to make reservations even tho the Cafe was not busy, the food was Cafe food was dissapointing. Our waiter KEITH was phenomenal due to the circumstances he went up and beyond to fix mistakes made by the kitchen and made sure our party was taken care of, the server was overwhelmed due to other staff members that were just standing around. A few mistakes were made and I'm sure it's because he was so overwhelmed. Keith had phenomenal customer service even tho he was the only server taken care of 3/4 of the Cafe by himself, was very polite. There was a guy standing behind the pie counter wearing a kanga that would just stand and stare at us not even assist his server with a large party, made us feel completely uncomfortable. If the Kanga guy was so interested in what was going on with our party he should have assisted his staff rather than staring and giving creepy grins to our party from a far. I would not recommend this cafe unless you want meh food. KEITH was great, kanga guy needs to get a hobby. Water was fresh, queso was awesome, chips were very chippy, guacamole was good, do not order the artichoke dip it had no flavor, no cheese. There was no kid menu offered to our 9 yr old. Very very disappointing for our large party, and rhe amt of $ we spent. Keith you rock, thank you for trying and doing your best in the situation u were placed with...
Read moreI'm surprised there are good reviews for this restaurant. We were in town for an event, staying at a local hotel. The clerk at the front desk recommended The Range as the place where local's eat. We try to avoid chain restaurants as much as possible, and so took the recommendation to heart. We arrived around 7:30pm. First, when we entered it wasn't clear whether it was seat yourself, or wait to be seated. The hostess podium is on the other side of the restaurant from the door we entered. I could maybe give that a pass, but... The hostess asked us how many in our party. I told her 2, and asked for a booth (which I'm not sure she heard). She took us to a regular table in the middle of the dining floor. I again asked, if she wouldn't mind putting us in a booth. She was really bothered by the question, and said "We don't really have any available" even though, from where I was standing, I could see at least 6 with clean silverware rolls on them, in areas where people were actively seated and eating. I again asked, if we could please have a booth, and the hostess said "If you could just sit here this time that would be great", and then she turned and left. The menu was pretty limited and the prices didn't seem on par with the selection or portions. We left without ordering and will...
Read moreThe range has been one of our favorite places to go. Sadly, over the last few years, ordering stuff from them has been a gamble. In two of our last 3 orders, meals were missing. People's whole meals were missing but we were charged for it. Calling them only resulted in excuses on how it was the driver's fault, a third party they have no control over. Short staffed, something something. The manager offered to make it but we would still have to go pick it up... He even offered to take a drink and a side of fries off (after much begging!) Woah! Terrible customer service. The only reason it's not 1 star is the food is decent (not as great as previous years). Same yourself a headache and go elsewhere.
Update 2/12/23 - I guess I'm a gambling man. Gambled again, lost again. Order a few items, this time all the meals were there but were missing ingredients. The green chile cheese burger with no green chile, the artichoke quesadilla only came with salsa, guacamole and lettuce. What happened to the artichoke and the rest of the stuff? If you are going there, I would recommend dine in at least that way they can...
