Chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe — Attraction in Albuquerque

June 23rd, 2020 I paid $485.46 to rent out only 1 hour of the Chapel for October 10th, 2020 (for our wedding)

September 24th, 2020 I texted Maria (I am guessing the manager of the Chapel) If things were still okay to have our wedding there plus 20 guest due to COVID. She said yes and what color of ribbons I wanted for the 20 chairs.

October 8th, 2020 (two days before the wedding) Maria informed me that I could not use the Chapel and that she will set up chairs outside on this tiny patio....

I was not happy about this because I did not pay $485.46 to have my wedding on a tiny patio... I paid a lot of money to use the Chapel. Also now I would have to find a new venue in two days.

I asked for a refund but Maria said the owner does not allow refunds... I did not use the Chapel and they also would not let me use the Chapel...

Maria said she would refund me $200 of the Commission she made off of it... I wanted that at least because I had to pay an additional $400 for a new venue.

It’s almost been a week later and still no refund of $200

Really sad they did this and not good business at all....

Would not recommend them to anyone.

Update 10/21/2020: Almost 2 weeks later and I got only $225 back because they said I need to take down my review till they give me my refund.... WOW they are being bully’s. I don’t want anyone to go through what I am going through

Update: 11/4/2020 finally got a full refund.....took a month of going back and forth. I would just delete this but it doesn’t give me an option... I still wouldn’t recommend them because they should have just said sorry and refunded the money right then and there...but it turned into me having to write a review for them to do anything...and then again it took a month...

Changed 1 star to 3 stars since they did finally refund me...

My wedding was held on the 18th of January 2025, and it was totally gorgeous and a memory that will last for eternity. We had our wedding at the Chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and it was stunningly gorgeous. The building, the environment, and the overall beauty of the chapel enhanced our small wedding day even more.

Tamara, the event coordinator, was incredibly professional and a joy to work with from start to finish. She replied to all of my inquiries straight away and went the extra mile to provide good ideas on decorations, which really helped make a huge difference to creating our vision a reality. Her attention to detail and friendly nature made everything feel like second nature and...

Great for a small wedding, definitely worth the small price for the venue, as well as the flexibility and responsiveness from the staff! We had our wedding in Sept 2022 and had a Pastor from out of town. We were able to hold a rehearsal the evening before the wedding day and set up before the ceremony; recommend having someone arrive early to find parking in front Patio Escondido for ease. Tamara and staff are amazing and completely try to accommodate all needs! We were able to have our immediate family, musician, and photographer in the venue and take pictures...
