Whataburger — Restaurant in Albuquerque

Whataburger is an amazing adventure in the world of fast food. I usually get the chicken strip dinner which are amazing. I have been a fan of strips and have eaten at many restaurants throughout my life. The ones at Whataburger are my favorites. They are consistently the same quality, they are always cooked throughout. The batter is truly uniformed and always delicious. The assorted dipping sauces would please most everyone’s pallet of flavor. Here lately I’ve been getting their hamburgers and now see why they are rated # 1 in flavor. The toppings are very simple but also unique in flavor. I get mine without tomato. When you bite into it you enjoy the flavors of a well cooked burger complimented with the thrill of onions, pickles, lettuce and mustard. The lettuce is consistently fresh and leafy. I am not sure how they can do this because everyone else often fails at the fresh lettuce but Whataburger always has a salad quality lettuce in their burgers. Anyway when you add these common ingredients together you get a delicious taste second to none. Now let’s talk about their fry’s. They also are # 1. They are cooked to perfection and again the taste and quality are always the same simply amazing. Now about a delicious milk shake they have them. Theirs taste like someone has dipped freshly made ice cream and fresh dairy milk and blended in perfect harmony. I get the plain because I enjoy the simple taste of vanilla but they also come in chocolate and strawberry. Another thing about their milkshakes; every time I have asked for one they always have them. How many times at other places are you told that their machines are down. When you step into a Whataburger it’s like a step back in time. The employees are very respectful and professional. They present an era when being courteous and customers were important were the norm. They present a era when an employee was proud to be the best. I don’t know how it is to work there but the management, and it must go to the top, must really instill pride and they must treat their employees with respect. Their employees always represent a very diverse age grouping and where they can find so many fantastic employees is amazing. If you enjoy great food, a very clean restaurant, and want to see what made America number 1 check a Whataburger out. It's been several years since I last ate at Whataburger and since I don't surprisingly have a Whataburger back home (Las Vegas, Nevada)...yet, I had to make it a point to visit here while traveling for work because I love this fast food restaurant.

I stopped here on 14 Oct 2023 around 4:50 pm and it was a great experience overall. I will say that this restaurant is probably the smallest Whataburger I've ever visited in my life (most of the restaurants I've visited were in Texas). The employees working during the time of my visit were very friendly, attentive, and moved at a respectable rate of speed - zero issues with their customer service!

The food itself were great. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich meal (this was the first time trying a chicken sandwich at Whataburger and I'll admit, their chicken sandwiches are up there in ranking with their wonderful burgers, and I'll even match them with Chick-fil-A. I know it's a bold statement but the seasoning on the chicken, along with the sauce is phenomenal. I also ordered a Whataburger Jr. with Cheese because I can't just order a chicken sandwich at a burger place. I was slightly disappointed that the burger bun was a little smashed but oh well, that didn't make me lose any sleep. I forgot how good their fries were...my favorite fast food fries is from McDonald's and Wendy's...but this is up there with them.

The restaurant wasn't 100% clean when I walked in (tables and chairs still needed cleaning); however, the restaurant cleanliness was adequate. While I was eating, I did notice the cashier cleaning around the dining area a little until more customers walked in. Overall, I enjoyed the visit and definitely recommend this restaurant...

Horrible customer service. Never ever order from this location using Uber eats or another delivery service. I’ve now tried 3 times, and today is the last time I will ever order from here. Two of the three times I never got my food. Not only do they claim not to receive the order (the app only says the store has accepted order and is working on it once the restaurant physically confirms it), but each time they made the poor delivery driver wait and were rude… only to never make the order and eventually cancel. They waste the drivers time that they could be making money, and when I called to speak to them about it the manager just lied continuously to me… I assume they didn’t know the driver had been in contact with me via the app each time. Finally, today, I got my order. Of course when the driver arrived the restaurant told them they didn’t have an order but then eventually “found it.” The driver came straight to my home with the food. The food was cold, as if it had been sitting out for hours. Not remotely warm. I added bacon to a sandwich - the bacon was laying next to the sandwich in the wrapper, along with all of the other condiments smashed all over the inside and outside of wrapper. The food was inedible, stale, destroyed and also (the smallest problem) still had tomato and onion despite having a receipt taped to bag that clearly shows it was ordered requesting not to have them. The staff is extremely rude not only to the drivers, but to me when I called. I always begin being very understanding, but after multiple horrible horrible experiences, this place is trash… even for a fast food...
