My wife and I had a unbelievebly frustrating experience picking up our furniture from this store. I will preface this scathing review with this disclaimer: the manager we spoke with was very understanding and wonderful and was a bright spot in an other wise horrible purchase and pick up experience. What we take issue with is World Market's customer data policies. In order to pick up our furniture they require our receipt from the original purchase from over two weeks ago, a good policy and I completely understand that they couldn't just give us our furniture without the receipt. Not problem surely they must have our receipt in their customer records in the store. But no, world market policy dictates that they only hold customer receipts for a week in the store before sending the data to corporate and then purge the customer data in store. So our proof of purchase wasn't in their system in the store anymore. We called ahead to make sure that we had everything we needed in order to retrieve our furniture. Yet the person we talked to did not inform us to bring our original receipt since the store no longer had the customer data so that we could pick up our furniture. In this day and age where data is so cheap, I cannot believe a store with the resources that world market has purges customer order data on a weekly basis to save data space. This policy makes customer data older than a week inaccessible to the store manager. We are extremely disappointed in world market and we will never make another furniture purchase from this chain. I would like to thank this store's manager for being gracious and helpful during this extremely...
Read moreNEVER fails @ World Market. They always have wonderful, amazing, worldly gifts! It's the place where there is always something for everyone....L💙VE IT! Not to mention, it's absolutely the best place for last minute holiday gifts (and I mean; Christmas Eve an hour before everything was closing no doubt). Now here is where 'MY SAD FACE' or 'I've got a slight problem in the tea pot aisle' face or just the 'darn here ya go for all your NOT so hard work' f🖕 actually have had happen before when it was 🚫 NOT the day before a holiday. They were just plain WEIRD👹 and RUDE😼 to me pretty much the entire time 👀i was in the store. I completely understand that it was RIGHT before they were closing on Christmas Eve🎄 but it's not like I had 6 Millon things in my basket or like I was all shifty ready to snag items from their cheep kiddo section. Bottom line was I looked kinda bad cause we were moving that day which sucked already, on Christmas Eve and I HAD to go do last minute shopping but no time to🧓🏻 primp beforehand. Doesn't mean I'm a weirdo 🧟♀️or a thief👹! Never judge a book by its cover needs to be the topic of their next staff meeting. So 😢... Despite feeling uncomfortable at the store at times I do 🌧️ i can change this to a 🌟 review but not until they treat me with the respect...
Read moreIts unfortunate to be served by a cashier who choose racism instead of courtesy. I have always enjoyed shopping at World Market (the majority of my kitchen items were purchased from your store) and have had exceptional service everytime until today. Before being greeted, cashier barked an order at me about where she wanted my items placed. The rest of her verbal exchange sounded scripted and delivery was disingenuous. I had a very different experience than the customer who preceeded me. I am a person of color with tattoos and the other customer was not. I understand you cannot dictate how your employees engage with customers but when their prejudice colors the final interaction, I almost declined the transaction all together. There was an associate who greeted me warmly and had a genuine conversation with me that I wanted to acknowledge. She represented the culture and experience ive come to expect from your company. That made the final interaction with the cashier...
