My husband and I randomly were traveling thru and found this little spot . We decided to try it . We walked in and didn't have reservations but we were immediately sat. I believe we got there right at open. Our server was not very attentive. I'm not sure if this was due to her having tables on the top floor and bottom floor. I ordered cocktails . I had the vanilla ice coffee. It was bitter with no vanilla flavor at all. I then ordered the key lime pie , this was my favorite! So yummy just like the pie. I followed that with the chocolate martini it was so delicious (very sweet) ! My husband had Dr pepper and had to continuously ask for refills. Bread was brought to us after my second cocktail. The rolls were cold . Not appetizing. We waited a long time for our meals. They were not busy. When the food arrive it looked very appealing. We both ordered steaks. My husband steak and garlic mash were cooked perfect! My steak was a little under but no big deal it was good regardless. I had the risotto and unfortunately it had a crunch to it. It was creamy and had a good cheese flavor. We each got a dessert. I got the chocolate cake. It had way too much chocolate syrup on it . It was very rich. I didn't enjoy it. My husband got the creme brulee . It was garnish with fresh berries. It was in a gravy boat and was thin. It didn't have a good crack to it. It tasted pudding. Overall for us this isn't somewhere we would visit again . But it has a unique vibe on the inside . The server is most likely why we had a not so wonderful experience! We still made sure to tip her because we don't know what sort of day she was having. This place is a hidden gem that just needs some more...
Read moreMade reservations the night before for my husband's birthday on Saturday night. Spoke with a young man who took our name down for 7:00 dinner reservations. We arrived about 5 minutes before 7:00 to be told by a female hostess that our names weren't in the book and it would be a 20 minute wait. This was pretty annoying, especially since she didn't offer any type of explanation or apology. We waited for about 15 minutes and luckily one of our relatives, who was celebrating his anniversary with his wife, walked in. The hostess asked if they had a reservation and they did and she snarling replies "well THANKFULLY y'all made reservations ahead of time." Our relative, concerned about our wait time because we have young children to get back to, asked about how long our wait would be and the hostess replied 20 MORE minutes. So finally our relative offered for us to join him and his wife at their table. Then we had to wait 10 minutes to flag the hostess down for a menu. Our server was very kind and prompt and the food was okay. This was my first time at Diamond Grill and we were very excited to celebrate my husband's birthday there but they probably will not have our business again. I understand miscommunications happen, but not even attempting to rectify the situation and being snide on top of it was too much. I have had better and more hospitable service at...
Read moreI am 32 weeks pregnant and was served undercooked duck!
My husband took me for a romantic date night here. While the atmosphere was absolutely lovely and the service was good, the food was not too impressive... we got the duck poppers appetizer which was good but not 12$ for 3 poppers good... my husband ordered the seafood pasta which was also pretty tasty. I order the duck breast which was really disappointing.... I found it tough and mostly chewy then after I managed to eat almost the whole breast I realized my duck was under cooked! I showed the waiter and he said that they cook the duck medium rare, what upset me is that I am 32 weeks pregnant and felt like I was not informed or given a choice of how I wanted my meat cooked!! It does not state on the menu and the waiter did not inform me when I ordered..... my husband and I did not enjoy the mashed potatoes either.... we likely will not be returning. This was our first time here and it was very...
