I can't figure this place out. Overall, the food is solid, what you would expect from the traditional hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant. However, occasionally I order something that's gross...it definitely depends on what you order here. Once I ordered their Egg Drop soup, only to find that a few pieces of the egg ribbons had green mold...yes, in the soup..not sure how this even happens, usually the sign of a cheap restaurant pinching pennies. I'm also a big Lo Mein fan...but NOT here. I don't know what the strange putrid flavor is, but it's really gross and disappointing. I've encountered similar nastiness before when it comes to pasta and rice (their white rice is a bit weird too) and it's usually related to the water. Some VA water smells like a swimming pool and it seems like that's what's happening here..at least I hope so bc/ the flavor is so gross, I would hate to think it's something worse. Surprisingly, I still gave them another shot b/c the other dishes I ordered were very good. I've enjoyed their Mongolian Beef, Moo Shu Pork, and Sweet and Sour Chicken. Basic Chinese food in VA is surprisingly poor, that's the only reason I go back here, but only for what I know I will like....order with caution. I've never actually visited the location, only delivery, but now I'm concerned that this place could be very dirty, maybe a health...

My boyfriend and I have ordered from here a few times before, however with it being a holiday the lines were busy every time we called. We placed an order online through the website since we don’t like to use 3rd party sites like grub hub or Uber eats. This was a huge mistake. We expected to have a wait because of the holiday but walked over right after ordering anyways. over the course of an hour and a half wait in the restaurant we were asked what our name/phone number for the order and then the items we ordered 3-4 times when we came in and as time went by. Finally they found our order and after seeing it was placed on beyond menu said that’s why they didn’t see it in the first place. Several customers there did the same thing. I’m mainly writing this because I think if you intend to order just call in or do it in person. Many other customers were having a similar issue and were getting frustrated. The website should be updated to reflect the proper sites to use to order to ease the confusion. Food was ok, unhappy w the experience overall however I can appreciate them being open on Christmas, when others are not which is why I am giving...

Ordered from here a few times for delivery straight to my office. The food has been excellent and customer service on the phone has been good, however, this last time had an awful incident with a delivery driver. There was a discrepancy from his total as opposed to my total that I got when I ordered over the phone and I had it straight on my phone and I showed him it was about a $0.76 as opposed to my total that I got when I ordered over the phone and I I showed this to him and he totally yelled at me in the lobby of my office. I didn't have the $0.76 that was their mistake not mine, and he was getting an 18% tip from me anyway but he continued to yell at me with a really bad attitude. I phoned the restaurant and told them what happened and they just said they would talk to the management and that they were sorry. This is totally unacceptable completely unacceptable and because of this unfortunate incident I will never order food from there again. And neither will anyone...

I ordered take out, General Tso’s chicken, orange chicken and chow mein. The General Tso’s chicken and orange chicken had the exact same sauce and taste. I could not tell the difference. The chow mein was apparently this soupy looking chicken with bean sprouts. When I called to mention that I got the wrong order she literally told me to smell the chicken to see which has orange in it to determine the orange chicken (I could not smell orange) and that the soupy chicken dish was the chow mein. I told her there were no noodles and she said that’s lo mein not chow mein. If you Google chow mein it literally says, “Chinese stir-friend NOODLES.” Not sure what kind of fool they took me for, but this was complete BS. I have a culinary background and this entire meal was poorly executed. I personally will not waste my time or money here again.

The food is good American Chinese food. The portions are normal American sizes. The hot and sour soup was fine. The egg roll was terrible. The chicken and broccoli was fine. The home style tofu also fine. The best dishes were the eggplant and the chicken with peppers in a black bean sauce. The shrimp egg foo young was also classic Americana. Fried rice also good. Overall a solid place to go for American Chinese food. There are not that many tables indoors and out and the atmosphere is perhaps more diner than restaurant. But they have a booth by the window, if you have anyone who loves a booth by the window. The money tree is also tall and in good shape. The staff are helpful and speak Chinese. There were many orders for takeout so this must be a regular spot for the locals.

I don’t think I’ve ever had Chinese food so bad, and I am not a reviewer leaver. My son’s orange chicken was so awful we trashed the entire dish. They used chicken you would get with sweet and sour chicken, smothered and drowned it in sauce and called it a day. The chicken was like soup, and soggy to the point of not being edible. The shrimp tempura was not shrimp tempura, and definitely not worth what I paid. I had very little chicken in my chicken and fried rice, and was not impressed for 19.99. For about twenty dollars I received rice with a few pieces of chicken, carrots and peas. Pictures attached. I will never go to this establishment for food ever again.
