Update: JuAnn your assertion is simply not true. I have zero reasons to fabricate a story ref your employee or business and post a review. If your employee not acknowledging her mistake is acceptable say that. Duly noted.
I was initially very excited about trying this establishment Old Town. I bought 2 bowls totaling just over $28. My daughter enjoyed her bowl hence the 2 stars. My experience was not so great. The server brought out one bowl as soon as it was completed and erroneously told us it was the bowl my daughter ordered and she began to eat as I waited for mine. About 5 min later the server came back and announced that the bowl my daughter was eating was actually the aƧaĆ bowl which I ordered. Being that I am immunocompromised, I simply said ā ok, how do you plan to correct it?ā The server looked at me and attempted to reinforce that the bowl my daughter was eating was what I ordered and stood there as if I were expected to just take what was left and eat it. I reminded her that it was her error and asked again how did they plan to correct it. The server once again stood there ready to argue until a different employee behind the counter said we will make you a new one. To the rude server: An acknowledgement of YOUR mistake and a viable option to correct is all that was required. Not the attitude I received.
Also, as we sat in the shop, two small dogs roamed the tiny sitting area. Perhaps there should be a āpets welcomedā sign outside with that sentiment to inform potential patrons who are not animal lovers or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is more of an average of my two visits. My first visit was 5/5. My 2nd visit today was 1/5 only because of my latte.
My latte tasted like the espresso was burnt very badly. I ended up dumping it after just 2-3 sips.
Customer service was polite and considerate on both visits.
With lattes being the priced as they are everywhere, it emphasizes both good and bad experiences more.
I will revisit this place a few months down the road to see if today was just an off day for the barista or if itās the standard.
In the meantime, Iāll stick to the few coffee shops in the oldtown Alexandria area that are from my perspective, consistent with latte quality.
Update:
The owner responded with the assumption I ordered an americano with oat milk. This is not true and I believe you are confusing me with someone else. I ordered a regular latte and I did not say anything about my drink...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is definitely a spot worth checking out in Alexandria! All their juices are super fresh and healthy - perfect if youāre trying to go on a cleanse.
All the food I ate was soooo good!! I tried the avocado toast, egg sandwich, and low carb pad Thai (not pictured). Seriously every single dish was delicious and so healthy! The low carb pad Thai was filled with zucchini noodles and tofu - something Iāve never tried before but was filled with so many flavors. You couldnāt tell you were eating all those veggies āŗļø If I had to choose my favorite, Iād go with the avocado toast but I loved them all! Their menu is very vegetarian friendly!
They also have coffee and lattes on their menu if you need some caffeine!
Interior is super cute and cozy! Take a Polaroid and add it to their memory wall!
Super friendly staff and great customer service. Overall just a great...
