(Update) January 2022: Have since gone back. They are now offering refills (only if you ask). Perhaps someone from corporate read my review. Honestly, I was in disbelief in December 2021when the PM shift boss (Saul) straight-up refused to give me a refill. "We don't do refills any more..." [Update June 2022]: Their new soda dispenser is terrible though, as it sprays soda all over the outside of the cup. If you're lucky, the McD's employee will pre-clean it before handing to you. Other times when it's hellish busy (like many McDs are), they'll hand you a cup with soda dripping all over the sides of the cup. Makes for a sticky mess if you're not prepared for it. Hoping the franchise police are reading these comments and help them fix this problem. Might be a "vendor" problem with their machines? This problem has persisted since the reopening in December 2021. Please fix. Knocking off an extra start until you do. (Update) December 2021. This used to be my favorite McDs. Following their new remodel, there is no longer an open soda fountain and they refuse to give you refills. So if you want some place to top off your drinks, don't come here. I knocked off two stars for it. However, this is probably a sign of things to come chain-wide. So make sure you ask for no ice in your drinks. Otherwise you'll end up with 16 ounces of ice and 4 ounces of soda to drink like I just got this very moment. Plus now, you can no longer see into the open kitchen. It looks more like a Prison Cafeteria. Previously, the kitchen was an open design with nothing to hide. With the new design, you can't see anything. Now they can spit on your food and get away with it. Couldn't do that before. Instead, you only see a yellow metal mesh fence surrounding two registers. Not friendly looking at all. Oh well. Read moreI was once picking up the kids from after school program around 5:30 pm. On the way home, I could tell they were hungry. Originally, I was going to make dinner, but I was just too tired and my wife was still working. The kids were being loud in the car and unfortunately, the weather wasn't great that day. It was one of those rare days where it was raining in LA. Just then, we drove by McDonald's. I thought, what a brilliant idea! The Golden arches were calling me to action, so we pulled off the road and into the parking area.
When we arrived in the restraunt, I was greeted by a super nice lady who could clearly see (with 3 kids) I had my hands full. She helped by suggesting some Happy meals. As the kids were starting to get impatient standing there, I started to get a bit flustered as well. You could tell this wasn't her first rodeo with kids, though. She saw what was going on with the kids, and suggested them to go and play in the Play place while she completed my order. Another brilliant plan to help avoid the kids from making a scene, lol.
Once I ordered, I went into the Play place as well, and found a really cool table that lights up when you touch it - how entertaining for my infant! The food arrived shortly thereafter. The toys that came with the meals enticed the kids to come out of the paly area to sit down and eat. What a success!
So there you go, McDonald's was able to transform a stressful rainy evening into a good one for all. We drove home, they went to sleep fast, and all was well at the home front. Once my wife got home, I sounded like a total hero being able to deal with the kids so well. I owe it to...
Read moreI'm giving this place a 1 star, as well as contacting McDonald's about the service here.
I grabbed lunch here the other day and dealt with the worst service at the counter. This service was not only horrible but it was definitely unacceptable, which is why I will be contacting the restaurant.
The young man working at the register was relatively rude to me (i.e. laughing and waving at me as if I couldn't see him while I was looking at the menu) but he treated the lady after me horribly. This lady was definitely not a native english speaker, but as she tried to order, he could barely contain his laughter at her accent, and actually asked her to repeat several things just so he could laugh at her. He clearly didn't need to clarify what she was ordering because I could see him typing the order into the screen, but it seemed like he just wanted her to repeat things so he could laugh at her about her accent.
Horrible service. I know McDonald's has been trying to step up their game by offering table service and renovating a lot of their stores, but before any of that, maybe they should check on who...
