This restaurant is an absolute hidden gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re transported into what feels like a Japanese anime shop. Right by the entrance, you’re greeted by a life-sized No-Face figure from Spirited Away, and on the blackboard, there’s a charming drawing of Ponyo. You’ll also spot Goku from Dragon Ball next to the recommended dishes. Each private booth has a thatched roof-style top, giving it the cozy feel of a Japanese izakaya, complete with traditional half-curtains. The seating offers great privacy, and the lighting is dim and romantic—perfect for a date night.
As a sushi lover, I ordered both the sushi and sashimi platter. Some of the fish were seasoned in unique ways and served with fresh wasabi—so flavorful they didn’t even need soy sauce. Every piece of fish was incredibly fresh with rich texture and taste.
We also took the staff’s recommendation and tried the cumin-seasoned black snapper, the fish is large, flavorful, and incredibly fresh. Despite its size, the fish is pan fried for both sides, crispy skin ,but the meat was juicy and tender, not dry at all. The meat came off easily in chunks, which made it easy for kids to eat. That said, the fish still has large bones, so I’d recommend parents check before serving it to children.
The biggest surprise for me was the hamburger meat steak! I’ve seen this dish in so many Japanese anime, and it was my first time trying it. It came topped with a fried egg, and when I scooped up a bite, the juicy meat combined with the richness of the egg was absolutely delicious.
We also ordered ramen for our daughter—and to our surprise, she ate half bowl by herself without asking for a phone to watch while eating, which means she really liked it! The bowl is bigger than I imagined, cause when I finished the rest for her I realized the bowl is deep!
Service was excellent—attentive but never intrusive. The staff were knowledgeable about the dishes and took care of everything professionally.
All in all, this was a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend for sushi lovers, anime fans, couples, and...
Read moreMy go to spot for sushi and ramen in the area. From my past experience, Japanese restaurants in the area would specialize in either sushi or ramen. But this restaurant not only serves both but also serves them right!
Space: the interior design really capitalize on the Japanese look. They remodeled and have semi private booth divided by rusty wood walls. Seems like they want to simulate a small Japanese town even though we're inside.
Appetizers: The salted edamame was great as usual. The crispy with spicy tuna is fire. The crispy cube of rice at the bottom is CRISPY. Topped with a scoop of spiny tuna and slice of avocado. Different textures and flavor combined gets you started for the meal.
Rolls: We got rainbow, crunch dragon, baked crawfish, and lady in red. I was honestly a bit overwhelmed because everything looks so good on the menu. The waiter gave some recs that helped a lot. This combination of rolls were perfect for us. We had fresh raw fish with rainbow roll, delicious shrimp tempura with crunch dragon, extra crisp onion over spicy tuna with lady in red roll, and rich and creamy crawfish that's baked beautifully. Every item was made with care and technique. The visuals, the fragrance, the flavors, the textures, and quality. Definitely satisfied my tooth for sushi. I cannot wait to come back.
Pricing: They were having a promo of buy 1 roll, get 1 roll half off. Not sure how long it'll last but save us a good amount on the bill! Nevertheless, the pricing is pretty standard for the area. Definitely a $$ kinda place. The quality and quantity was worth it for me.
Side notes: (1) I didn't get ramen this time because I was craving sushi, but I had a blast with their ramen the last time I came. (2) They don't serve...
Read moreAmazing Izakaya Experience – Highly Recommend! I had a fantastic experience at this izakaya. Each dish was prepared to perfection and brought unique flavors to the table: Black Cumin Snapper: A must-try! The snapper was perfectly fried—crispy outside, juicy inside—with fragrant, well-balanced spices and a tangy-sweet sauce that gave it a fusion of Japanese and Thai flavors. Truly surprising and delicious. Negitoro Donburi: This is my go-to dish at any izakaya, and this place delivered perfectly. The fatty tuna was fresh, sweet, and beautifully prepared. Ginza Sushi: An impressive and aesthetically pleasing sushi platter. All 12 pieces were fresh and well-crafted, and the price was surprisingly reasonable. Stuffed Avocado: A standout appetizer! The avocado was perfectly ripe, and the grilled fish paste topping made it a great complement for drinks. Okinawa Sashimi: The sashimi platter was incredible, especially the Otoro. Each slice was thick, fatty, and rich, providing an indulgent experience. The food quality, presentation, and taste exceeded my expectations. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a high-quality...
