As a regular patron of the Chick-fil-A at Avalon since the end of January, and for a period, a daily visitor, I've always appreciated the brand's commitment to a stellar dine-in experience. Unfortunately, the recent remodel of this location has completely undermined that, leaving me and likely many other dine-in customers feeling like an afterthought.
The new environment is a stark departure from the welcoming atmosphere Chick-fil-A is known for. The dining room is now dark and cavernous, a direct result of removing nearly half of the windows. The ceiling architecture, while likely functional for the expanded drive-thru, has left the interior feeling cold and poorly considered.
The logistical flow for dine-in customers is now a significant point of frustration. The absence of a designated queue for ordering creates a crowded and chaotic space. On one occasion, I was so close to the line while eating that I could feel people breathing down my neck. The two main registers are positioned so close together that personal space is non-existent. The third register, seemingly for catering, is placed in a way that blocks the mobile pickup station, creating further congestion. A large portion of the counter is now dedicated to beverages, which only adds to the overcrowding.
A particularly frustrating new policy is the withholding of drinks until the food order is complete. I, like many, enjoy having my beverage while I wait. When I requested my sweet tea, the employee, Joy, seemed genuinely put out and handed it to me without the customary "my pleasure." While I understand the drive for efficiency, it should not come at the expense of customer satisfaction.
Finally, the new seating arrangement is simply awkward. The long booth with chairs on the other side lacks the privacy and comfort of traditional booths, making it difficult to even get in and out if other diners have their belongings in the way.
It is evident that the focus has shifted almost entirely to the drive-thru and catering. The very essence of the Chick-fil-A dine-in experience has been lost. I sincerely hope that management will consider the feedback of its loyal dine-in customers and take steps to restore the welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere that was once a hallmark of...
Read moreA Disastrous Experience at Chick-fil-A Avalon - Beware of the Pimento Cheese Price Gouging!
I've always associated Chick-fil-A with quality service and consistency, but my experience at the Avalon, Alpharetta location was an absolute disaster from start to finish. If you're considering dining here, beware-especially if you're thinking of ordering the Pimento Cheese Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Where Do I Begin? Pimento Cheese Scandal: I ordered the Pimento Cheese Spicy Chicken Sandwich, expecting the rich, creamy topping that makes this sandwich special. Instead, I received a barely-there smear of pimento cheese—so little that I had to order a side of pimento cheese just to make the sandwich edible. The Price Shock: That extra 1-ounce side of pimento cheese? A jaw-dropping $1.89. That means Chick-fil-A values its pimento cheese at an insane $30.24 per pound-more expensive than premium steak! Even the shift manager apologized for the ridiculous pricing and shockingly small portion cup, admitting that he spoke to the owner. Owner's Appalling Response: The manager relayed that the owner's response to the complaint was: "People will pay if they want it." This level of greed and disregard for customers is downright deplorable. It Gets Worse... • Flat Coke Zero - Completely Completely undrinkable. Side Salad Disaster - Half-full container with just ONE grape tomato. Mac & Cheese Mess - Ordered a large, received a half-filled portion. No Customer Service Resolution - I reached out to Chick-fil-A corporate through multiple calls and emails. Each time, I was told the owner would contact me. It's been months-no response. Even corporate seemed shocked at the owner's lack of follow-up.
Final Verdict: Avoid This Location This is not the Chick-fil-A standard I expect. The quality, portions, pricing, and customer service are beyond unacceptable. Until Chick-fil-A corporate steps in to ensure this owner is held accountable, I cannot recommend this location to anyone. If you've had a similar experience at Chick-fil-A Avalon, I encourage you to speak up. Customers deserve better than price gouging, poor service, and...

Is this really a Chick-fil-A?
The design and building itself is absolutely beautiful. It's design characteristics blend well with the Avalon area and it looks more like a office building than a quick service restaurant. Moreover, the brick and stone styling along with beautiful walkways and lights make this chickfila stand out and a joy to behold! The parking lot is huge and the drive thru has a very large capacity with nice landscaping. Also the inside is definitely a lot larger than most and it has tall, incredible windows that let in huge amounts of natural lightning and they also have great outdoor patio seating.
I went on opening day and boy was it packed. It was in the afternoon but there were representatives and employees everywhere smiling and greeting guests as they walked in. Our order was taken quickly and the cashiers and trainers were pleasant and helpful.
Our food was out in moments and we didn't wait long at all. Everything was hot, fresh, and perfect! It seriously was some of the best chickfila I've tasted in ages. Also we had several team members come check on us and I must have had my beverage refilled a thousand times haha!
The atmosphere was awesome for their Grand Opening and everyone was very welcoming. The bar is set high for this location in Avalon, but so far they're doing a fantastic job!
The only gripe I have is that although the parking lot was huge, it was hard to find a spot and it was incredibly busy and slightly hazardous maneuvering. Also the entrance from the parking lot and Avalon crosses through the main part of the drive thru where the lanes and cars are merging and it's definitely not the safest design. Be careful!
But overall, definitely would recommend and it's a much needed location and experience in the area, you won't be disappointed.
Wonderful job...
