So it’s like this… We have a pair of friends who we just absolutely love, trying anything Ramen or sushi related, and we always look for these unknown places that are off the beaten path. Ramen Spot came up on our radar a couple weeks ago we decided to meet there on Friday night. I was a little hesitant with it being in a typical mall environment next from Northpoint mall. But I couldn’t have been more wrong.
This place is amazing… The first thing that will catch you off guard is the price for the dishes or drinks. It is so reasonable that it’s just insane when you look at other places nearby. I’m not saying you’re gonna get a bowl of Ramen for $5, but when looking at other places around the area, you will soon find out that it is quite the deal for the price point.
The service was impeccable, and we had a waitress who was literally “Johnny on the spot” whenever our brain started to think about a drink refill or something else to eat. It was uncanny. Absolute stellar service.
The food was really well done… I’m a vegetarian, so I went with the creamy, vegan and after just coming back from Chicago with my favorite Ramen joint, this was matching on all points.
Highly recommended to visit there when you get a chance… Friday night was not super busy, but I can imagine that place does get packed on Saturday so make a simple reservation through Google and you’re in like skin. You can...
Read moreI came to this place looking for good ramen having just moved from the west coast and hoping that this might be my new go to. Unfortunately that is definitely not the case. I ordered the tonkatsu and my guest ordered the shoyu ramen bowl. I have had a lot of experiences both good and bad. I understand that ramen is not an easy dish to get right, but having had well over 50 different experiences with ramen from different places I can safely say this was in my bottom 3 experiences. The pork was overcooked. The egg was hard and the yolk was not runny what so ever. It was also heavily over seasoned. The noodles were slimy. The broth smelled terrible, so much so that I questioned if it was even safe to eat. I was also never even given a spice level option which is at the bottom of the page of the menu. I’ll give them the extra star above 1 just for the edamame being good and the fact that I was able to get at least part way through it.
The server was pushy about me ordering food and wasn’t even phased when I let them know that the food was really mediocre after they came over and asked how it was. They didn’t even seem the least bit surprised that I wasn’t impressed either.
Definitely not coming back and wouldn’t recommend this...

I got the pork chasu black ramen. Typically a very flavorful aroma filled ramen with complex flavors and creamy smooth texture, perfect for delicious sides. What I got was a dull porky flavored broth with only green onions to brighten it up, and the texture left a slight chalky sensation in my mouth after each sip. Everyone who regularly eats ramen knows this shouldn't be the case. Moving onto the noodles they were well cooked and toothsome but that is the only nice thing I have to say about my meal. Despite the meal being nearly $20 it only comes with 2 thin slices of chasu pork and I assume this is to encourage people to add more to the dish with each addition being around 3 dollars. Despite this dish being sold as a completed combo. That being said the pork itself wasn't marinated well if at all and had a bland salty flavor, reminding me of cheap bacon. Last but not least the "soft boiled" egg was actually a hard boiled egg and continue to deprive the dish of any notion of skillful craftsmanship. Don't eat here just go somewhere else...
