Dear Waffle House Corporate Team,
I am writing to formally report an extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience I had at one of your locations involving an employee named Lisa.
After a long night out with friends, I arrived at the Waffle House intending to place an order. However, Lisa refused to take my order, claiming that I (or someone associated with me) had placed an order at a different Waffle House location and had not called to cancel it. I explained to her that I was not the one who placed that initial order—my friend, who was no longer with me at the time, had done so.
Despite this, Lisa insisted she would not take my order until the other location was contacted to cancel it. I had to reach out to my friend, ask her to call and cancel the order, and only then was I allowed to be served. Even then, Lisa refused to assist me directly and had another employee named Carolyn take my order and payment.
I have never experienced such rude, unprofessional, and unaccommodating customer service at Waffle House. I’m a loyal customer who frequents your restaurants at least twice a month, and I expect to be treated with basic respect and fairness.
Lisa’s actions were completely out of line and do not reflect the customer service standards I’ve come to expect from your brand. I strongly urge that she receive immediate training or be reconsidered for employment if this is how she treats paying customers.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope to see appropriate...
Read moreBeen here all the time, always been a 24 hour waffle house. But today, as a review mentioned before me mentioned, they kept their doors locked and wouldn’t open. They said they don’t open until 6am, but I showed them the picture (through the window) that their business hours showed 24 hours. The lady that walked over to the window responded that “we are short staffed”. I work at a restaurant myself. I know that regardless of how under or over staffed you are, business hours are business hours. The staffing doesn’t change those hours hardly ever in my experience—especially in chain places like a starbucks, mcdonalds, and even a waffle house. I didn’t want to argue though, so I just let them be.
I should also mention i was the only car/guest there wanting to go in, and thru the window i saw at least THREE employees (could be more in the back), with one of them sitting at the high top/barish seating area fiddling on their phone. Call me crazy, but I don’t think 4:30-5:00am are crazy hours and at least 3 cooks should be fine…
I don’t believe they were closed, because their business hours online haven’t changed, and if they have changed they need to be updated online. If there hours are actually changed now, then that’s fine, but I wanted some food before early work, and this was the only spot i could find close enough that was supposed to be 24 hours. I guess gas station food will suffice….Thanks...
Read moreI’m a regular at this Waffle House and dine in usually around 3-4 nights a week. Every time I come in I tip minimum 20% and give $100 tips on occasion. This time I was in a hurry so I placed a to-go order and when I paid I hit no tip because it was a to-go order and I was not being waited on and as someone who has worked in this industry I know that tips are not expected on to-go orders. The lady with the big glasses said “so you’re not gonna tip huh?” And I said “excuse me”. She then said “you know this is how we make our living right?” I said “yes ma’am but I placed a to-go order. Then the cook (guy wearing a long sleeve shirt under his shirt with Waffle House logo’s on his sleeves looks back from the counter and says “that’s a bet bro” in an aggressive manner. The lady with the big glasses then tells me to sit down aggressively, as the cook proceeds to burn my entire meal. Mind you I have given this exact server (lady with the big glasses) a $100 tip on a single allstar meal in the past. Probably more than once. I will definitely never be back to this location. Waffle House please pay your workers more so they don’t behave in this manner. I shouldn’t be expected to pick up y’all’s slack on a to-go...
