First time to Fry Nation, so maybe I'm missing something, but it's unlikely I'll be back to discover what it was.
The fries were pretty good. On par with fair (and other event food carts) fries, but significantly more expensive for no reason I could discern.
I got the chilli cheese, my wife got the cheeseburger. The chilli cheese fries were OK, but for the price they were pretty stingy on the toppings. As for the "cheeseburger" fries, the first star lost is for calling fries with nothing but dill, cheese, ketchup and mayo on them "cheeseburger". I've never ordered a cheeseburger without getting some type of meat on it. If the descriptions aren't accurate, the menu should specify what's on each "flavor".
Then there's the rediculous wooden stick they put in there, presumably to eat the fries with? If the goal was to provide a useful utensil to eat my fries without getting my hands dirty, they have failed miserably. It is useful only for making a mess and dropping the fries and toppings back in the container or on the floor. There exists a great tool for eating food like this without getting your hands dirty, it's called a fork. We've been eating with them for hundreds of years successfully. Stop trying to be trendy (or cheap) by failing at reinventing the wheel.
In short: decent food, not worth the price, ineffective utensils, poor descriptions of flavors. If you're in the mall with a fry craving and some extra money burning a hole in your pocket, why not. I would not make it a destination though. You can get more fries of equal or greater quality elsewhere...
Read moreWhen Fry Nation first opened, I LOVED it! Then, slowly, things began to change, and not for the better. First, they no longer have salt available for customer use. The guy working there said they “ran out” but there was none available my last three visits. How can you have no salt available at a fry place?? Then, while waiting my turn, I noticed the customers in front of me were being given left over fries rather than some freshly made just for them. I specifically requested that my fries be fresh made. The guy working there acknowledged my request but gave me the left overs anyway. If I hadn’t already paid, I wouldn’t have taken them. Last, I tried to bring these things up to the guy working there. All he had to say was thanks for your input, we’ll take it on board. Instead, he argued with me. I didn’t need that, so I just walked away. I can get good fresh fries with lots of salt and no hassle at Five Guys.
Addendum: After posting this the argumentative guy (who turned out to be the owner) came to my table, apologized for his initial reaction, and thanked me for my feedback. He asked some clarifying questions and then said changes would be made. Based upon this interaction, I will give them...
Read moreClean restaurant. The food however, was fair and that is being generous.
My Sweet Home Chicago Dog came with a toasted bun, luke warm dog, a mound of sweet onions, a crunchy tomato, 2 sport peppers, and celery salt.
My husband ordered a polish which was not warm either. Both dogs were falling through the broken buns.
The basket of fries were broken into small peices. (We just used a fork.)
The staff was RUDE AS HELL. 😒 They had no sense of urgency, rolling their eyes and minimal response to questions asked about food. One worker began taking our order then just walked away. Another staff member walked up and we had to start our order over. The television was on the employee came over and turned it down then proceeded to move chairs around making all kinds of noise. There was only one other couple in the restaurant yet 50% of the tables were dirty.
I don't know if today was an off day for them but as a first time customer the experience was terrible. We will not be back anytime...
