First time at this location and was super excited because I love panda express!! I have tried it in Indiana, East lansing and when they had it, in kalamazoo too. so you could imagine my excitement when i discovered them on alpine. Wanted my fiance and mother in law to try it and ordered a family feast. Got there on time but was told the kung pao was the last to be boxed up as it was being cooked. Thats fine, i can wait for good food. The staff offered a free beverage and i declined as it wasnt necessary. The place wasn't busy, it was around 4 pm, only other customer was a family of 4. There were like 6-7 staff on total there. So i waited.
Got my order after 10 mins. Still not bad. When i got home i tried the orange chicken, it tasted and smelled like vinger. It wasnt orange either just mushy brown and vingerly. The low mein noodles had no sauce so it was like eating boiled noodles with sauteed onions and i added another entree of crab rangoons, because yum! Sadly they forgot it.
The fried rice was good and beef and broccoli was okay, kinda vingerly too. The kung pao was tipped and sauce leaked out, no biggie. However for waiting and extra 10 mins it was pretty disappointing. It was like leftovers on the bottom 2/3 and top 1/3 was fresh.
Ended up eating leftovers from the night before and throwing it away. I was a bit embrassed as i hyped it up and spent $40 on it! I dont live in GR, but visit time to time so it wasnt worth it for me to get...
Read moreDe-freaking-licious. I've never audibly said mmm before when eating something. My and my S/O went there because we heard people hyping it up, so we went and had no idea what to expect. They were patient as we stumbled figuring out what we wanted, and finally placed our order. We were told to pull up ahead and wait and that's fine I kind of expected it. As we waited someone came out and said that chef accidentally put walnuts in one of our things, and had apologized extensively. As two people who work in customer service it was no big deal at all, we were totally fine to wait. She was very nice and polite about it and had even asked if we wanted an appetizer or something while we waited. We said no thanks just because we didn't want to put more work on them for a mistake. A few minutes later she came out with our food and apologized again, we said it was alright and honestly nothing to be worried about. We left and started to eat, and the food is absolutely delicious. I wish we had one of these where we live, 10/10 will definitely...
Read moreI ordered a Family Feast from the Comstock Park Panda Express (Alpine Ave) on Oct 14, 2025, and my order was completely wrong. I ordered 1 white rice, 1 fried rice, and 3 orange chickens, but received 2 white rice, 2 fried rice, and only 1 orange chicken.
I called and spoke with Manager Alexis, who apologized and said to come back with my receipt and they’d “make it right.” When I returned the next evening, they only gave me the 2 missing orange chickens. No rice, no full replacement meal. That didn’t fix the problem, because Panda Express meals are meant to be eaten with both an entrée and a side. The original food went to waste, and now so did the replacements.
It’s like ordering a cheeseburger, finding out it’s missing the meat, and when you go back, they only hand you the patty. Sure, that’s what was missing, but it’s not a complete meal and it’s not good customer service.
Really disappointed in how this was handled. I’ve always liked Panda Express, but after this experience, I won’t be returning unless corporate...
