We visited this restaurant on 7/28 celebrating my daughter’s 8th bday and last night on vacation with friends. This has to be the worst restaurant experience I have ever encountered. We had a reservation and after waiting were seated after our scheduled reservation. Once we ordered and waited for drinks our first experience with appetizers was nothing to write home about. We continued to wait for over an hour and half for our food which during that time cold gumbo was served and went back which we were told oh…must have got turned off, salads didn’t come after asking more than once. We were told the long wait was because they were filling to go orders that had been called in. Was also told yes, there had been several complaints tonight. Might be a good idea to first take care of your customers that are in your restaurant with reservations patiently waiting for their orders and put a cap on call in orders if your kitchen can’t keep up. Finally when our food did arrive after the ridiculous overly long wait with our group including our birthday girl the food arrived super cold on plates, Burnt hamburger that was not even editable and the grouper fish you couldn’t even cut with a knife. The food was AWFUL. The wait with a reservation was RIDICULOUS and it was an evening to celebrate a birthday girl. Oh…and at least we were given some nasty tasting key lime pie after being told it hadn’t really had time to set. Will NEVER eat here again or recommend to anyone. Would highly NOT recommend going if you are trying to celebrate a special evening because this restaurant will do nothing to make sure your evening is enjoyable! This place in my opinion doesn’t deserve the one star I had to click to submit this review. And take down the sign you have hanging bc that is the...
Read moreMy husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at the Seagrove Village Market. Excellent service. Menu touts their fried seafood as being voted as "Best on 30A," I must admit- my husband was a little skeptical at that claim, but boy, were we proven wrong. My husband ordered the grouper fish platter, fried, with broccoli salad and garlic mashed potatoes, all of which he states were superb. He agrees that the fried grouper was the best that he has ever had. I ordered the fried shrimp platter, with whole fried okra and macaroni and cheese. I am a shrimp lover, and the fried shrimp blew me out of the water.. no pun intended, or maybe it was.... who knows?! Also would like to mention that the prices are comparable to other seafood restaurants in the area, which at first glance may seem pricey, but the serving sizes are very generous..so much so, we had no room for dessert, despite desperately wanting to try the Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie....lol. Nonetheless, this eatery is one you should not pass up. It is not mentioned as much as other dining options, and I feel like it deserves far more recognition than it gets. We vacation here every year, and this will be a must stop for us...
Read moreWe recently ate at this restaurant, which was one of our favorite and go to spots whenever we visited this area. The last visit will be our last. We visited a little past the lunch hour to beat the crowds. We ordered the Grouper bites basket but the fish was as good we have previously enjoyed. The fried okra side was cold and the side of slaw was old. We got replacement side of okra and exchanged the slaw for broccoli salad. The fried okra was hot this time but tough. The broccoli salad was old and soggy, which we did not eat. We have been supporting this restaurant since the former owner of George’s started here. Since this was the second time in a row that we had similar prepared meals, will not come here again or recommend it. I think the problem is the attitude of management to accept mediocre as the standard because business is fine. There are too many other places to choose from for them to not try to compete. Until they want to be superior, they will continue to decline. We hope this attitude will not move to their new location. I will add...
