Our experience was unfortunate. The food was decent, the price was good, the service was good until we had to ask for the check.
Our waitress brought the check, but then disappeared. We knew there was a large party there raking up several tables, so we waited for her to come back so we could pay the bill.
After four or five minutes, my husband tried twice to flag our waitress down, but she either didn’t see him or was ignoring him because she was busy with the other table.
After a few more minutes, we walked up to the front with the bill and the credit card and asked if we could pay up there.
The waitress was incredibly rude. Not only in what she said, but her tone and how she spoke to us. She pointed at all the other dishes she had, said she was very busy, she would get to us when she could. I responded with a couple of wows, that’s inappropriate, and there’s no need to speak to us like that. I told her we were just trying to pay for our food.
At one point during the interchange, I explained that we were in a bit of a hurry, and before I could say anything else, she said, “if you were in that much of a hurry, you should not have come“. Again, “wow”. The only reason that time became an issue was because she did not come back to ring up our check. That’s on her.
She called someone else over, and they took care of ringing us up. The entire time, though, the waitress was mumbling under her breath, but loud enough that we could hear her. She was very disparaging and full of disdain for us. So much so that several other employees looked shocked and were watching the scene she was making.
We made it clear to the waiter who rang us up that we would never come back, we should have gone to Cedric’s, and there was no tip whatsoever. Not one cent.
Neither my husband, nor I were angry or rude, just completely flabbergasted and shocked. We both walked out stunned. We have eaten there before, and actually been served by the same waitress, and it was totally fine. I get that people have bad days, but this was bad enough that we...
Read moreWriting as I sit at the table. I have noticed some type of IHOP head honcho sitting a few booths down. His cup defiBatley stayed filled and hot.. Our waitress was on it, Drink order came quickly but can't say the same about the refills or the food. We arrived at 9:30 am were sat right away. Date ordered OJ I ordered a hot chocolate and we both asked for water.. we got the OJ and Hot Chocolate, but no water. Waitress was eager to get our food order, we were eager to eat. We didn't see her again until our food order came 30 minutes later. Meanwhile we both sat with empty glasses for over 20 minutes still no water. Food was cold(butter wouldn't even melt on the pancakes, bacon floppy.. etc.. Date had a problem with his food when explained to the waitress she apologized and set the bill down. When she came back for the bill date just placed a new order..hint hint... she brought us a new bill with all goods including the one we sent back on it. I felt like I was polite while to the point, but wasn't in the mood to push the obvious. Our total time in restaurant was an hour and a half. This is the second time we have sat in a nearly dead IHOP this year and had lazy, slow service. Noticed the manager Checking in on head honcho numerous times, in our time here. It got to the point the honcho told the manager to just "take care of his restaurant and his customers and he will let him know when he needs something" I am disappointed in the IF IHOP. The workers have no pride in their work. Coming from a former waitress who can sympathise with them it says alot about the character of the...
Read moreIt's hit & miss here. Have had decent experiences where food handler went above expectations, but mostly bad experiences. Many times the server is asked to roll utensils in napkins & does that on opposite side of restaurant where we can't get help if needed. Over 50% of visits I'm not offered drink refills until almost done with meal while having been empty for a bit. On one recent trip (early Dec. 2024) at 8 pm on a Thursday I ordered the 2+2+2 plate which has been running on a special for $7. I'm a senior citizen & normally get that for price of $8.29. Regular price is $9.99. They also had a promotional hot chocolate drink with a caramel flavoring & drizzle on top advertized at $3.09, plain regular hot cocoa is $3.49. I pointed out $7 table plaquered 2+2+2 price & ordered it & special hot cocoa (cheaper price one). Didn't even think or realize my receipt total was too high until after paid & was leaving. In making quick glance at charges & realized charged $9.99 & $3.49, $3.39 more than prices ordered plus gave extra tip based on that. When I went back to tell server of her mistake & get overpayment corrected she went into back where the night manager/cook was & came back out to tell me he couldn't help & that I'd need to come back in mornings when manager was there. I live 30 minutes out of town in rural area & only come to I.F. once a week. I was ticked & haven't returned. It will be a bit before trying again & hoping server is no longer there. She has waited on me at least 3 times before as I usually went every 2-3 weeks (pancake...
