(Giving two stars instead of 1, because the manager that I talked to after told me it wasnât the first OR the second time TODAY someone called to complain about Marcus.)
Went to self checkout, was only 15 minutes before I had to pick up my kids from school so was in a little bit of a hurry. There was no other customers over there I was the only one using 1 of the 4 registers. An employee named Marcus asks me if I have less than 10 items. I was already 6 items scanned in my Order, I count the rest and I had 12 total, only 6 more. He tells me I need to go stand in line at the other registers. I tell him Iâm late to get my kids itâs only 2 more items, he said no I have to go stand in line. My sister in law was with me and we both had items (totaling in 12) she goes to another open self checkout register with her items so that we were abiding by the less than 10 items rule. But I could tell he was upset we did it that way instead of going to stand in line like he wanted us to. We finish checking out and he removes our magnetic things off the clothes, we go to leave the store and it starts beeping at us. He missed two items that still had the magnetic things on them. I say to my sister âoh we will be late now to get the kids!) and she replies âwell if he would have did his job right we wouldnât have been lateâ well little did I know he heard her say this⊠my sister takes the two items over to him to get his help getting the magnets off, He refused to take them off. He told her another employee will have to help her because he wasnât going to. So I take the items from her and go to him and say âplease please Iâm late to get my kids I didnât do anything to you will you please take them off?â And he said âno you will need to go stand in line and get someone else to take them offâ MIND YOU he was doing absolutely nothing no other customers over there at all. I stayed in line and got another employee to take them off. At first she wouldnât give me the Marcusâs name (he didnât have a tag on I looked) she said she couldnât give employee personal information out. But after I told her I needed to report him she told me his name was Marcus. I literally left the store in tears because I was so upset. Iâve never had this bad of an interaction at a store before! Checked out self checkout brought the security lady my bag with my items and receipt inside the bag to take the security tags off. She was throwing each item in a new bag after taking the tag off. (This is helpful because this is why I didnât have my receipt is the only thing I can think of because receipt wasnât in my bag when I got home) when I walked out the store the monitors were beeping at me. She told me âdonât worry about it your good door is just messed upâ so I left. Got home and thereâs one security tag still on one of my clothing items which is I guess why I was beeping when I left the store. I came back today to Get them to remove it. Told them the reason why I didnât have the receipt. She still said she couldnât remove the tag without the receipt. I told her I could show her the bank line transaction, she said no she would have to see the specific item was purchased. I asked her to check camera. She said it would be 1 hour wait. So I waited. Mind you, I had THREE children with me. Ages 1, 6, and 8. I stood There waiting for her to check the camera. She finally verified and saw I purchased the item and removed the tag. I left the store so overwhelmed on the verge of tears because I was so upset. I was going to let my kids shop since we were already here might as well. But no, this store will not get my money again. Last review this store had was 6 months ago, and it was me. Very sad. I understand rules, but in certain situations like mine a mom with three very young children I told them details I wouldnât have known, the lady who helped me and what she told me, things I wouldnât have known if I was lying about it. Customer satisfaction should sometimes be a priority especially with a less than $18 clothing item at hand. Is it worth losing a customer entirely for?    Read moreUpdated Edit: going from 3 to 4 stars! I've noticed a huge change in the service here. The cashier at customer service was saying hello to customers as we entered the store, the cashier was quick and friendly and there was more than one. The prices are still amazing đ€© compared to the mall or even department stores. The selection has been lacking lately in new items, which makes it hard to find certain items. On this trip I was looking for clothes for my son who wears 16/18 in kids or xs or s in men's bottoms because he's so tall. There were maybe 20 pairs of sweatpants in that size. I was able to find one pair however I've been checking for the just couple of months and they haven't gotten in anything new worth looking at. Though it could have been because of the Christmas holiday.
Previous review: While the customer service is always horrible here, and there is always a ridiculous wait for checking out, the deals and over all money I save keep me coming back for my family's and my own clothing needs.
