I brought in a bunch of name brand items …including a handful that I recently bought from buckle. That weren’t necessarily easy to part with, but I had a major down size in closet space, but items like flying monkey jeans, billabong tops, and kimes. I was a little surprised when out of my 30 items they only picked 3 … especially after walking around the store and looking at what they already carried.
BUT I totally understand they have the right to pick and choose what goes in their store so no big deal! That’s not the reason for my 3 star review. I made $12 in total for my 3 name brand items. I brought all of my clothes folded in a tote and when I got the ones back they didn’t want to keep they just tossed them in there in a big jumbled mess. It takes one extra second to fold after looking it over… I know some people bring unfolded bags and drop them off but the courtesy of giving your clothes back how you received them would have been a nice gesture. I just don’t think $12 is worth the time or gas money… and you can’t decide to keep your items if you don’t like their low ball offer. I just want to advise anyone that’s on the fence about bringing their clothes in, good chance it won’t be worth your time. You might as well donate your clothes … and use the...
Read moreI have been a frequent costumer at Uptown Cheapstake and have sold to them multiple times. I always bring in items that are in style and never before worn with tags and stickers still on them. When I first started selling clothes here I thought I was getting back my money’s worth because I was getting fairly good money in return for the quality of clothes I was bringing. Lately I’ve noticed that they have been giving me less and less money for what I bring in no matter how great the quality is. They have made me feel like I’m an annoying customer for coming in so frequently and perhaps if they stopped paying me more that I would go away. So, I recently sold them two brand new American Eagle jeans with tags and stickers still attached to them. I really didn’t want to believe that they were ripping me off, but when they only offered me $15 for all of the items I brought in, I didn’t think it was fair. As I’ve walked around the store and found items that I had previously sold, I saw they they were re-selling my clothes for way more than I had gotten back. I do not recommend selling to Uptown Cheapskate and I will never sell my clothes to them again. I really trusted them and counted on their accountability, but now see that they are not truly...

Anyway, don’t show up right before close like I did. The lovely ladies working the end of their shifts the weekend before Christmas deserve raises for their kindness, and ability to support me in the heartache that crept in realizing I didn’t have enough time to touch every damn thing in that store before leaving. Turns out amateur hour exists…. 15 minutes prior to close at...
