Real Tequila Bar and Restaurant — Restaurant in Anacortes

This place is awful. The waitress was clearly unqualified. We came in we got chips and salsa. The waitress came up and said that we want something to drink we said water to start. She said I'll be back she came back no water wanted to take our drink orders. We ordered two margaritas and of course she suggested to my friend the large without explaining that was 32 oz. And I said I would like some water. She brought the margaritas I wanted salt there were five or six flex of salt and that's it. Then she came back to take her order again I asked for water she said I'm busy I said yeah I would have thought with customers of which I am. So she goes and gets one glass of water just for me and slams it on the table. And I said there's no salt on this margarita she points to those three or four little flecks of salt and I said You know what I think we're done. And my friend and I got up and she goes well aren't you going to pay for those margaritas I said they want made correctly and we didn't drink them so no. Ok so I work in Anacortes and go by this place all the time and at lunch is always full so I thought I would try it especially after seeing so many good reviews. This was my experience. First the chips were pretty stale and hard the salsa is hotter than most but i like that slows me down from eating to many chips lol. I ordered chicken en mole as this is my judge dish for all Mexican restaurants lol ! The sauce it self was kinda grainy and the flavor was just bit off used to a more sweet chocolate type sauce . The chicken was hard to the bite and didn't want to come apart in my tortilla . The rice was kinda hard and dry . The beans were ok . There was no garnish like a bit of lettuce and tomatoe ,onions etc. My diet Pepsi was flat . Most people don't know but soda vendors will adjust your machine for free if you just ask. Over all was ok but I don't think I'd go out of my way to go back. In my humble opinion Agave up the street is way better. The staff was super friendly. I hate to judge a restaurant by one dish one time so maybe I'll go back...

Jose is an incredibly rude person. i got a burrito and while it was massive, it was severely lacking in flavor. Jose apparently made the food himself based on the way he took offense and argued with me about it. he asked how the food was, (i had taken 3 bites and pushed it aside). i said “i’m so sorry, it’s not great.” his response was to sneer “are you kidding me?” i said “no, i taste absolutely no seasoning whatsoever.” he points to other tables and says “well they’re eating it, everyone else is eating it, you just don’t like our food” well jose, i guess not. for $16 i’m not going to force myself to eat something that is tasteless. good service would be asking if there’s anything else you can do to improve the experience, not getting personally offended and treating me like i’m ridiculous for not thinking your water flavored burrito was worth my hard earned money. embarrassing behavior from...
