Cannot speak on the bagels as I got gluten free, which was an additional $2.00 for a store-bought bagel that they do not make (employee noted they were store bought). However, there were a few health/cleanliness concerns. First, the bagels are sitting in open wire baskets on the counter with a ceiling fan above it. They allow dogs inside the establishment, which I believe is a violation since they are preparing food. A customer had their long-haired, large dog laying on the floor, with many ceiling fans circulating, which could land dog hair on the exposed bagels... The customer did ask if it was dog friendly inside and the employee said it was and it was not a service dog.
The bathroom looked as if it had not been cleaned in at least a week. Dirt and hair on the toilet behind the seat, stale smell even with the window open, a thin layer of grime coating the inside of the sink. Dusty and cobwebby. I felt dirty walking out of the...
Read moreThe bagels here are pretty good, not much to complain about. But theyâre not fantastic either. In fact, no food is fantastic in Anacortes so donât expect too much if youâre not a local. What I do have a gripe with is the fact that I ordered one bagel sandwich and two bagels with cream cheese and had to wait 45 minutes. In no universe should it take that long to make a bagel sandwich and spread cream cheese on two other ones. There is no designated person working as a barista, so the cashier has to alternate between making drinks and taking orders. Also, the coffee is horrendous. This is no knock on the people actually working there, but there needs to be improvement in management and actual operation of the shop. It is not worth it to go to this place if youâre looking to have breakfast within an hour of...
Read moreThis is probably the best bagel place I've ever been to in my life. Prices are fair for the labor, everything is made fresh to order, and I am proud to be a regular. My little brother loves it so much, he wants me to take a fresh bagel cross country when I visit him! Atmosphere is calm and the staff are helpful and caring, and the bathroom is always clean. However, if you happen to read this, I would suggest you have an option of real plates, utensils, and cups when people order "for here". If it's too much to do the dishes I understand, but it would add to the atmosphere and cut down on waste. Or at the very least have cups for the drip coffee if you expect it will get multiple uses in. Thank you for bringing good bagels...
