Birrieria El Tijuanazo — Restaurant in Anaheim

Great local spot for birria (beef) tacos. Been coming here a while now for the quesabirrias and haven't have a bad experience yet. The tacos are generously stuffed with the shredded beef and the dorado's tacos are fried perfectly with the cheese inside.

Usually get a side of their consome but for 2 people a small is plenty for 5-6 tacos. Have had their ramen as well and it's a bit more hit or miss. First time it was excellent, 2nd time was just okay. Don't have that issue with the other food though. Good selection of drinks including the Coke in a bottle. Good stuff.

The tacos all come with the usual fixings - limes, onions/cilantro, and some chili. Usually order online and grab it to go, but have eaten in the restaurant a couple times as well. I'm always a bit concerned when I go and the place isn't busy but I think they do a lot of to-go orders because this spot is still alive and well after a couple years of us going even though the location is a bit out of the way and tough to find. We were having a family get together so I ordered a couple family meals and a few other things to try and it was really excellent! The service was fast and thoughtful (they packed my order really well to keep the consomme from spilling). The food was really fantastic. I'll admit that I am not a birria expert but this meat was tender, the tortillas were hot and so good in the consomme. They gave us some pickled onions as a side and those were amazing.

The price was so good for the quantity of food that we got I would just say go try it and see what you think for yourself. But I am definitely doing this for another family...

I arrived seeking the $5.55 Cinco De Mayo special, which promised five street tacos. The attendant who served us was friendly but had limited English proficiency.
