Tacos El Patron — Restaurant in Anaheim

I didn't take pictures of all the food we ordered because everyone devoured it before I could! It was THAT GOOD! This is going to be a detailed review, so if you're looking for a specific thing to read about, keep scrolling and find the section you're looking for.

Getting To Location: This place is truly a hidden gem! Our map assistant took us through the neighborhood route and the restaurant was literally a right turn after turning out of the neighborhood. We almost missed the turn but so glad we didn't! At the time we arrived there was plenty of parking spots.

Ordering: The staff member who helped us was truly friendly and kind. I started to order and she asked if it was my first time coming to the restaurant. After I told her that it was our first time, she recommended ordering the birria tacos, which was their specialty. My son ordered the birria tacos with the stew (consumé) plate, which came with 3 tacos. My hubby ordered the goat birria quesadilla with the consumé. Daughter got the al pastor birria mulitas. And I got myself one beef birria taco and one Vampiro al pastor taco. The only pictures posted are of my food. 😅 Oh! We also got one large mango agua fresca.

Taste: AMAZING! One of the BEST birria tacos I've ever had! From the texture to the flavors, chef's kiss all around! And the consumé was PERFECTION! I didn't think that it was too salty or lacking in flavor. My taste buds were having a fiesta!... And so was my belly!

Overall Experience: Our family walked away from that dinner with full bellies and full hearts! I think the cook made 2 birria tacos by mistake for my order. That was pretty awesome. And when we left, I came up to the cashier who took my order to let her know that everything tasted so DELICIOUS and thanked her and her colleagues for the wonderful meal. She gave us another cup of mango agua fresca on the house! 🥰 I'm not saying that everything was great because we got extra stuff with our order. It was honestly the extra friendliness and care on top of great tasting food that everyone provided that made this first experience memorable. Tacos El Patron is now in the to top of our list for those days we crave for awesome birria...

This place has some amazing food and personally has one of my favorite Tortas around but this place does some problems that I need to address that knock down the rating for me.

One the of the main problems I have for this place is that workers do not call when you're food is ready. Their are times that I stand around waiting only for people who ordered later than me getting their food sooner than me. I have to go up and ask about my order, only then do they bring it out. The worst offender was when I asked for my order and saying that they forgotten about it and haven't even started at all.

This place also seems not to be able to handle huge amounts of orders either and that isn't a good thing as this place gets packed really quickly. So most time you'll be waiting for a long time for your order that probably won't get called with a bunch of people standing inside also waiting for their order.

Overall, this place has some good food but get set back with the poor service and bad atmosphere, not a place I want to stay longer...

Wow, it was highly recommended but took a while for me to venture in this place...you're gonna see people camping out eating on or in their cars, tailgates...you name it as it's a rather smaller venue w no seating here... Their Birria burritos 🌯 are hands down the BEST in Anaheim, if you can even find "goat 🐐 meat" their salsa is also BETTER than all around this area or beyond...30+ years here in or around this town. One word of "advice" however is I'd suggest you enjoy Birria with a knife & fork as the way in which they break it down, can (sometimes..) leave smaller bone fragments...nothing around that from using the cleaver...it happens so be careful. They make that Macho salsa of Ancho chilies but it's often kinda far back and a long reach..ur also going to wait in line a while...unless you call 📞 in your orders...super friendly servers their cooks look very clean & busy...go here pass any other places...it's...
