Riviera Maya Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Anderson

One of the worst experiences ever. We go to this location at least every other weekend if not every weekend and spend atleast $50.00 to $60.00 if not more plus the tip ( which we normally do 30% ) depending on how many people we have with us. Well today there was 5 of us 2 of which was kids and 3 adults. We all order the same thing every time. While ordering the server was SUPER rude not professional at all. Then after ordering he walked around atleast past our table 3 times or 4 before bringing drinks and our cheese. Then after about 20 - 25 mins we finally start getting food in which my husbands chicken was cold ( so we sent it back) and My food was still not ready and at the table and noone said I'm sorry for your wait or anything until my husbands food finally came back warm still not hot. Our rude server then said we are still waiting on your shrimp and cheese. Finally 5 to 10 more minutes later my food which comes And everything is raw . My onions was barley cooked and my shrimp barely had grill marks. Our server never came to check on us until we was basically done with our food and ready to leave. At this point we finally go wait in a long line to pay our bill. We get up to the older lady at the register and she asks how everything was. So I let her know about everything and Her response was well U can always request someone you like to serve you. No I'm sorry NO Discount no let me make this right NOTHING... I'm not sure if we will be back after this... We have been there alot and has had some issues and never any sorry or making things right with a customer to make sure they come back.. As the guy paying in front of us said he had a hair in his food . and same thing NOONE said sorry or discounted his food . He will NOT...

The food is great. The service however, was awful.

My girlfriend and I went out to eat for the first time in a long time. Money has been tight and we wanted to treat ourselves. We chose Riviera Maya for our night out. We were greeted at the door by a very nice young man who seated us. The restaurant was not busy whatsoever, there was only one other couple seated in our whole section. It took a few minutes to get chips and salsa, which wasn’t unusual. But then came the wait. We waited nearly 10 minutes for our server to even show up to take our drink order. When he walked up, he seemed visibly annoyed to be serving us. After taking our drink order, he returned quickly with our drinks and a queso dip we requested. He then took our order, and left the table. While waiting for our food to come out, we ate all of our chips, and we never saw our server to get them refilled. The food came out, and was correct. Tasted great. It took another 5 or so minutes for our server to come back to the table to make sure our order was correct. At which point we asked for a chips and salsa refill, which he brought soon after. But that was the last time we saw him for 20+ minutes. Our drinks went completely empty, we needed napkins, and we never saw our server. By the time we finally saw him again, our food was cold and I was frustrated enough I wanted to pay and leave. We weren’t apologized to for the wait, he acted as if nothing was wrong. Very frustrating considering it was supposed to be a nice night out for us, and this experience was very unenjoyable. I think we’ll choose a different restaurant next...

Absolutely amazing place for a date night or a family gathering! This is our families favorite place to eat. From date night to family night, there are never any complaints. The staff remembers faces and greets us as family each and everytime we visit. You'd think so many of the customers ARE family because they treat you as such! It is ALWAYS amazing food, customer service and speed. We have a large family, 6 kids under 12 and the staff never looks concerned or annoyed by the large group (as many places do) They are always ready to help with a smile on their face and leave both parents and kiddos satisfied! Another huge bonus is the party room in the back: It is the most amazing secluded area for large families or a large group enjoying lunch/dinner. It keeps the stress of 6 kiddos behaving for other guest to a very low minimum, for mama bear! and the days mom and dad are on date night, the guest notices us and we share lots of laughs... plus amazing drinks! 😉 Great job Maya! Keep up the great work! Scatterfield is our most favorite location, but ive heard nothing but great things for all 3...
